Different morphologies of graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4), including bulk g C- 3N4 (B-CN), ultrathin nanosheet g-C3N4(N CN), and porous g-C- 3N4 (P-CN) were synthesized through a facile one-step approach. They were then employed as efficient photocatalysts under visible light to degrade methylene blue (MB) and deactivate Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) and Escherichia coli (E.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is currently ranked as the third most common type of cancer, contributing significantly to mortality and morbidity worldwide. Epigenetic and genetic changes occurred during CRC progression resulted in the cell proliferation, cancer progression, angiogenesis, and invasion. Angiogenesis is one of the crucial steps during cancer progression required for the delivery of essential nutrients to cancer cells and removes metabolic waste.

Background: Latent tuberculosis (TB) can reactivate in immunocompromised individuals, such as cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, leading to severe complications. Understanding the prevalence of latent TB in this high-risk group is crucial, especially in regions with moderate to high TB burdens.
Aim: This study aims to determine the prevalence of latent tuberculosis in cancer patients before chemotherapy and immunotherapy to guide preventive interventions and reduce the risk of TB reactivation.

Background: The invasive property of breast cancer and the complex composition of the tumor microenvironment (TME) antibodies like anti-PD-L1, can inhibit tumor growth by promoting macrophage phagocytosis. In this research, we used anti-PD-L1 antibody and siRNAs targeting SIRPα (siSIRPα) and STAT6 (siSTAT6). The siRNAs were transported to macrophages using M1-derived exosomes.

Background: Acoustic cavitation is a foundational mechanism in ultrasound therapy, primarily through inertial cavitation resulting from microbubble collapse. Sonodynamic therapy, with inertial acoustic cavitation threshold and low-dose radiation in the presence of sensitizers, may provide significant effects for cancer treatment, potentially overcoming resistance encountered with single therapies.
Methods: MCF7 breast cancer cells were subjected to sonodynamic therapy either alone or combined with ionizing radiation, gold nanoparticles coated with apigenin, and methylene blue.

Melatonin, a hormone primarily synthesized in the pineal gland, has an essential role in the regulation of various physiological processes, such as the sleep-wake cycle, immune function, and antioxidative responses. Emerging evidence suggests that melatonin also exerts significant protective effects against skin cancers, particularly melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers. This review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of melatonin's multifaceted mechanisms of action in preventing and treating skin cancers, focusing on its antioxidant, photoprotective, and radioprotective properties.

Background: Isotretinoin is widely used for moderate to severe acne vulgaris. Despite its broad application, isotretinoin carries a risk of permanent scarring and keloid formation following various skin procedures. As a result, a delay of at least 6-12 months after completing or discontinuing isotretinoin treatment is commonly recommended before undergoing skin procedures.

Background And Aim: The present study aimed to evaluate the use of F-2-[F]-fluoro-2-deoxy-d-glucose (FDG) PET/MRI (Positron emission tomography-computed tomography) in predicting the pathological response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) in patients with breast cancer (BC) compared to the use of MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) alone.
Methods: We searched numerous databases, including PubMed, Scopus, Embase, and Science Direct, using curated keywords. The variance of each study was determined using the binomial distribution, and STATA version 14 was used to analyze the data by performing random-effect models.
