An electrochemical aptasensor has been developed specifically for the sensitive and selective determination of ochratoxin A (OTA), one of the most important mycotoxins. The aptasensor utilizes a glassy carbon electrode that has been modified with toluidine blue (TB) encapsulated in a Zn-based metal-organic framework (TB@Zn-MOF). The results demonstrate that in the presence of OTA, the peak current of the differential pulse voltammogram (DPV) related to TB oxidation is notably decreased.

Spatial-Numerical Associations (SNAs) refer to the demonstrations of spatial processing of numbers. The Mental Number Line (MNL) is a representation model describing numbers as aligning left-to-right (LR) and was suggested to account for directional biases in participants' responses during numerical tasks. One common behavioral demonstration of this is the Spatial-Numerical Associations of Response Codes (SNARC) effect, which describes faster left-/right-hand responses to smaller/larger numbers, respectively.

Obesity is a multifactorial condition influenced by genetic, environmental, and microbiome-related factors. The gut microbiome plays a vital role in maintaining intestinal health, increasing mucus creation, helping the intestinal epithelium mend, and regulating short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) production. These tasks are vital for managing metabolism and maintaining energy balance.

Background: Corrosive substance ingestion is rare but can cause severe injury, especially to the upper gastrointestinal tract, and can be a potentially fatal event. Various surgical procedures have been advocated for gastroesophageal reconstruction, but especially those using the right colon, when the ileocecal valve is preserved for gastric reconstruction, are briefly exposed in literature and have not been studied in humans by controlled studies. Using the right colon is believed to be beneficial because of the anti-reflux mechanism of the ileocecal valve.

Sulfur mustard (SM), known as the "king of toxic agents," continues to pose a potential danger due to its ability to cause widespread damage, including ongoing corrosive effects. We aimed to determine the rheumatologic markers in SM veterans suffering from severe pulmonary manifestations. The serologic markers, including ANA, anti-DNA, rheumatoid factor (RF), and CRP, between SM-exposed veterans (n = 229) with severe problems and not-SM-exposed residents with no pulmonary disease history (n = 63), 25-30 years after SM exposure were compared.
