Digital technologies can help support the health of migrants and refugees and facilitate research on their health issues. However, ethical concerns include security and confidentiality of information; informed consent; how to engage migrants in designing, implementing and researching digital tools; inequitable access to mobile devices and the internet; and access to health services for early intervention and follow-up. Digital technical solutions do not necessarily overcome problems that are political, social, or economic.

Tobacco, being a globally cultivated crop, holds significant social and economic importance. Tobacco plants are susceptible to the adverse effects of heavy metals (HMs), particularly cadmium (Cd), which hinders root development, disrupts water balance, and impedes nutrient absorption. Higher concentrations of HMs, especially Cd, naturally accumulate in tobacco leaves due to complex interactions within the plant-soil continuum.

The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) virus is the causative agent of the emerging zoonotic respiratory disease. One of the most important prerequisites for combating emerging diseases is the development of vaccines within a short period of time. In this study, antigen-irradiated, inactivated SARS-CoV-2 viruses and the disaccharide trehalose were used to enhance immune responses in the Syrian hamster.

Leydig cells play a crucial role in male reproductive physiology, and their dysfunction is often associated with male infertility. Hypoxia negatively affects the structure and function of Leydig cells. This study aimed to investigate the impact of melatonin on the c-Jun N-terminal kinase (Jnk), P38, and extra-cellular signal-regulated kinases 1 and 2 (Erk1/2) mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathways in TM3 mouse Leydig cells under hypoxia induced by cobalt (II) chloride (CoCl).

Testicular ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury during testicular torsion is strongly influenced by oxidative stress caused by excessive accumulation of unscavenged reactive oxygen species. This study aimed to investigate the effects of intra-peritoneal administration of Mito-TEMPO (MT) on I/R injury in testicular torsion/detorsion (T/D) in mice. Forty-two male mice were divided into seven groups including 1 control and 6 treatment groups (360° T/D, 720° T/D, 360° T/D + 0.

The cooling procedure markedly diminishes the quality of guinea pig () sperms, primarily because their membranes are highly susceptible to this process. This susceptibility triggers the generation of reactive oxygen species and free radicals, ultimately leading to lipid peroxidation in the sperm membrane. Surprisingly, there has been a lack of research on the use of Tris-based extenders to safeguard guinea pig sperm under refrigeration conditions.

This research aimed to produce a multifunctional bread by adding hydrothermally processed rice bran (RB), green tea extract (GTE), and rosemary extract (RE). In the first step, hydrothermal processing was used to reduce the amount of phytic acid in RB, which decreased by 55 %. Based on the acrylamide amount, texture profile analysis, and color parameters, 3 % RB was selected as the optimum concentration in the bread formulation.

Steam injection, especially in a superheated state, increases the rate of heat transfer and improves the quality of the baked products. In this research, different baking methods (forced convention, superheated steam, and superheated steam-assisted) at different temperatures (140°C, 160°C, 180°C) were applied to produce a new formulated rice cake containing acorn flour and inulin. The findings revealed that the level of moisture inside the oven directly influences the volume of the cake.

This study aimed to estimate the quantity and trends of salt intake from industrial fermented dairy products, develop strategies to reduce salt content, and inform policymakers on promoting public health through healthier dairy options. A cross-sectional study was conducted on fermented dairy products. Seventy-nine random samples were selected, and the salt (NaCl %) content was determined by potentiometric titration after sample preparation and homogenization; also samples were analyzed for their moisture (oven drying method).

Synthesis of 5-substituted 1-tetrazoles and reduction of a variety of nitro compounds presents a promising solution for the pharmaceutical and agricultural industries. However, the development of green catalysts with superior catalytic performance for this reaction remains a significant challenge. This research introduces a green protocol for the creation of ultrafine Cu(ii) metal immobilized on the surface of pectin hydrogel (HPEC), modified by a CoFeO/Pr-SOH magnetic nanocomposite, enabling the synthesis of tetrazoles and reduction of nitro compounds.

Accurate prediction of chlorophyll- (Chl-) concentrations, a key indicator of eutrophication, is essential for the sustainable management of lake ecosystems. This study evaluated the performance of Kolmogorov-Arnold Networks (KANs) along with three neural network models (MLP-NN, LSTM, and GRU) and three traditional machine learning tools (RF, SVR, and GPR) for predicting time-series Chl- concentrations in large lakes. Monthly remote-sensed Chl- data derived from Aqua-MODIS spanning September 2002 to April 2024 were used.

In the field of solar energy storage, photocatalytic ammonia production is a next-generation technology. The rapid recombination of charges and insignificant utilization of the sunlight spectrum are bottlenecks of effective photocatalytic N fixation. The introduction of impurities in the crystal lattice and the development of heterojunctions could effectively segregate carriers and improve the solar-light-harvesting capability, which can boost NH generation.
