Purpose: To investigate whether seminal plasma (SP)/serum ratios of multiple trace elements (TEs) can classify patients with male subfertility.
Methods: SP/serum ratios of 20 TEs (lithium, sodium, magnesium, phosphorus, sulfur, potassium, calcium, manganese, iron, cobalt, copper, zinc, arsenic, selenium, rubidium, strontium, molybdenum, cesium, barium, and thallium) were calculated for healthy volunteers ( = 4) and those consulting for male subfertility ( = 245). Volunteer semen samples were collected by split ejaculation into early and subsequent fractions, and SP/serum ratio data were compared between fractions.
We present two cases of general anesthesia in children with 18, 13 trisomy. One patient had difficulty with intubation and had to be reintubated postoperatively, another developed postoperative acute respiratory distress syndrome. The use of postoperative high-flow nasal cannula oxygen therapy to avoid reintubation is considered a feasible strategy.

Methods: This retrospective cohort study analyzed the data of 230 patients with stage Ⅰ-Ⅲ colorectal cancers who underwent surgical resection between November 2010 and December 2015. Osteopenia and sarcopenia were evaluated by measuring the average pixel density in the mid-vertebral core of the 11th thoracic vertebra on enhanced computed tomography and the psoas muscle mass area at the third lumbar vertebra, respectively.

We previously reported that miR-200a was highly up-regulated in lung carcinoma, exhibiting a copy number increase (CNI) of the AKT2 gene (AKT2+ group) in defined subsets, i.e., adenocarcinoma and early stages of carcinoma (pStage I/II).

The disease processes typically involve the corpus callosum and clinically presents with various manifestations on the basis of clinical condition, extent of the splenium of the corpus callosum involvement at brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and prognosis. We report a patient affected by MBD, who presented an isolated reversible splenial lesion at brain MRI and achieved a favorable recovery.

Clinically, the marked progression of lung-limited diffuse lesions was consistent with IPAF. Serum IgG4 and rheumatoid factor levels simultaneously increased and did not contribute to a diagnosis.

Epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors, gefitnib and erlotinib, are effective for advanced nonsmall-cell lung cancer with epidermal growth factor receptor gene mutation. However, interstitial lung disease induced by these drugs is sometimes fatal, and discontinuation of the medication is the principle approach once this occurs. There are, however, some reports of cases in which rechallenge of gefitinib or erlotinib was successful, and it remains unclear when or how rechallenge should be attempted.
