Grain appearance is one of the most important attributes of rice. It is determined by grain size, shape, and weight, which in turn influences the rice yield and market value. In this study, QTLs for grain length, grain width, grain length/width ratio, and grain weight were mapped using the high-throughput indica/indica SNP platforms.

Sustainable Energy Consumption Model for Textile Industry Using Fully Intuitionistic Fuzzy Optimization Approach.

Consumption of renewable energy is on the rise because new technologies have made it cheaper and easier to meet the needs of a long-term energy source. In the present study, the idea of optimal usage of sustainable energy is discussed, taking into consideration the environmental and economic conditions that exist in Pakistan's textile manufacturing industry. By taking into account the regional potential for the application of renewable energy resources, solar energy generators are taken into consideration, and a fully intuitionistic fuzzy (FIF) textile energy model is constructed.

Background: Multidrug resistant MDR bacterial strains are causing fatal infections, such as mastitis. Thus, there is a need for the development of new target-oriented antimicrobials. Nanomaterials have many advantages over traditional antibiotics, including improved stability, controlled antibiotic release, targeted administration, enhanced bioavailability, and the use of antibiotic-loaded nanomaterials, such as the one herein reported for the first time, appear to be a promising strategy to combat antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

Does maternal empowerment improve dietary diversity of children? Evidence from Pakistan demographic and health survey 2017-18.

The role of maternal empowerment (ME) to improve child nutrition in patriarchal societies of developing countries remains ambiguous. This study provides empirical evidence about the impact of ME and some other factors selected under United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund theoretical framework, on dietary diversity of children (under 5 years age) in Pakistan. Partial proportional odds model is estimated to obtain varying estimates of the parameters by using data of Pakistan Demographic and Health Survey 2017-18.

Lab protocol for investigating impacts of climate change on frogs.

We developed a method to investigate impacts of temperature (elevated) on breeding, growth and development in endemic frogs under laboratory conditions. The method provides details on housing and rearing of larvae, taking various important measurements and observing developmental deformities. The method could also be applied to rescue approach or head-start program for amphibian species experiencing climate change elsewhere in the world.

Effective adsorption of cadmium and lead using SOH-functionalized Zr-MOFs in aqueous medium.

Cadmium (Cd) and Lead (Pb) from industrial wastewater can bioaccumulate in the living organisms of water bodies, posing serious threats to human health. Therefore, efficient remediation of heavy metal ions of Cd (II) and Pb (II) in aqueous media is necessary for public health and environmental sustainability. In the present study, water stable Zirconium (Zr) based metal organic frameworks (MOFs) with SOH functionalization were synthesized by solvothermal method and used first time for the adsorption of Cd (II) and Pb (II).

Spatio-temporal assessment of land use dynamics and urbanization: linking with environmental aspects and DPSIR framework approach.

Urbanization is the main force of the global environmental as well as land use land cover changes (LULC). Urbanization is caused by prompt increase in population growth, migration, and urge for employment. In this study, Geographic Information System (GIS) was applied for the analysis and representation of spatio-temporal changes in LULC in Peshawar district and these results were linked with environmental aspects and Driver-Pressure-State-Impact-Response (DPSIR) framework approaches.

Enhancing the physical properties and photocatalytic activity of TiO nanoparticles cobalt doping.

Cobalt-doped TiO-based diluted magnetic semiconductors were successfully synthesized using a co-precipitation method. The X-ray diffraction study of all the samples showed good crystallinity, matching the standard tetragonal anatase phase. The X-ray diffraction peaks of the cobalt-doped sample slightly shifted towards a lower angle showing the decrease in particle size and distortion in the unit cell due to cobalt incorporation in the lattice of TiO.

This research describes a data-driven method for detecting and diagnosing issues in hybrid electric vehicle regenerative braking systems. Early fault identification can help enhance system performance and health.

The effect of Mn and Co dual-doping on the structural, optical, dielectric and magnetic properties of ZnO nanostructures.

This paper addresses the effect of Mn (2%, fixed) and Co (2, 4, and 6%, varied) substitution on the structural, optical, dielectric and magnetic responses of ZnO nanoparticles synthesized by the co-precipitation chemical route. The X-ray diffraction analysis confirms the hexagonal wurtzite structure of ZnO. The incorporation of co-doping in the ZnO host, indicated by peak shifting in the XRD patterns, enhanced the crystallite size of the Mn/Co dual-doped ZnO nanoparticles.

Heat induction in two-dimensional graphene-FeO nanohybrids for magnetic hyperthermia applications with artificial neural network modeling.

We report the synthesis and characterization of graphene functionalized with iron (Fe) oxide (G-FeO) nanohybrids for radio-frequency magnetic hyperthermia application. We adopted the wet chemical procedure, using various contents of FeO (magnetite) from 0-100% for making two-dimensional graphene-FeO nanohybrids. The homogeneous dispersal of FeO nanoparticles decorated on the graphene surface combined with their biocompatibility and high thermal conductivity make them an excellent material for magnetic hyperthermia.
