Background: Limited studies have explored the use of the hybrid approach combining team-based learning (TBL) and case-based learning (CBL) in dental education. This study evaluates how students perceive the hybrid TBL-CBL approach to learning endodontics and determines whether gender and ethnicity impact students' perceptions.
Methods: The final-year undergraduate Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) students were invited to participate in a hybrid TBL-CBL session.

Background: Recently, screening of colorectal cancer (CRC) patients for mismatch repair/microsatellite instability (MMR/MSI) status is widely practiced due to its potential predictive and prognostic roles and a screening tool to reveal Lynch Syndrome (LS). The purpose of the study was to evaluate concordance between immunohistochemistry (IHC) and MSI analysis methods for detection of MMR/MSI status in colorectal cancer patients in Kuantan, Pahang.
Methods: Fifty selected CRC cases of deficient mismatch repair (dMMR) and proficient mismatch repair (pMMR) which were identified immunohistochemically in the previous study were subjected to MSI analysis.

Introduction: Adult zebrafish are increasingly used in Parkinson's disease (PD) research due to their well-characterized dopaminergic system. Among the toxin-based models, the neurotoxin 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP) is widely utilized to induce parkinsonism in adult zebrafish. Therefore, this review presents an overview of the procedures and the dynamic changes in behavior and physiology observed in the adult zebrafish PD model following a single intraperitoneal injection of MPTP.

This study explicates an Islamic approach to palliative care based on the results of a needs analysis regarding the development of an Islamic psychospiritual manual of palliative care alongside related elements. This article represents the first phase of a three-phase study using the design and development research (DDR) approach developed by Richey and Klein to study for design and development of manual either needed or otherwise. This project is a quantitative study that uses purposive sampling through a questionnaire instrument to investigate 210 participants from the general population in Malaysia that have experience in taking care of terminally ill patients.

The massive and uncontrolled use of petroleum-based plastic food packaging has resulted in serious environmental problems. As a result, the food packaging industry should improve packaging materials based on biodegradable polymers, such as chitosan. Edible food coating maintains and improves the shelf life and condition of packaged foods.

Edible bird's nest (EBN) is made up of sialylated-mucin glycoprotein with various health benefits due to its high antioxidative activity. However, as a macromolecule with distinct charged sialic acid and amino acids, fractions with different charges would have varied physicochemical properties and antioxidant activity, which have not been studied. Therefore, this study aimed to fractionate and purify the enzymatic hydrolysed of cleaned EBN (EBNh) and EBN by-product (EBNh) through anion exchange chromatography (AEC), and determine their molecular weights, physicochemical properties, and antioxidative activities.

Tropical fruits, predominantly cultivated in Southeast Asia, are esteemed for their nutritional richness, distinctive taste, aroma, and visual appeal when consumed fresh. However, postharvest challenges have led to substantial global wastage, nearly 50 %. The advent of edible biopolymeric nanoparticles presents a novel solution to preserve the fruits' overall freshness.

Biotransformation is recognised as a green chemistry tool to synthesise diverse natural product analogues for valorisation of their chemistry and bioactivities. It offers significant benefits compared to chemical synthesis, given its cost-effectiveness and greater selectivity. In this work, a curcumin analogue, namely gingerenone A, was yielded from the biotransformation process catalysed by .

Ceramics are the oxides of metals and nonmetals with excellent compressive strength. Ceramics usually exhibit inert behavior at high temperatures. Magnesium aluminate (MgAl2O4), a member of the ceramic family, possesses a high working temperature up to 2000°C, low thermal conductivity, high strength even at elevated temperatures, and good corrosion resistance.

A recessive Short Tandem Repeat expansion in has been found to be associated with cerebellar ataxia, neuropathy and vestibular areflexia syndrome (CANVAS), and to be a frequent cause of late onset ataxia and sensory neuropathy. The usual procedure for sizing these expansions is based on Southern Blotting (SB), a time-consuming and a relatively imprecise technique. In this paper, we compare SB with Optical Genome Mapping (OGM), a method for detecting Structural Variants (SVs) based on the measurement of distances between fluorescently labelled probes, for the diagnosis of CANVAS and disease spectrum.

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the protective effects of fenugreek on CoCl-induced hypoxia in neonatal rat cardiomyocytes.
Materials And Methods: Primary cardiomyocytes were isolated from Sprague Dawley rats aged 0-2 days and incubated with various concentrations of fenugreek (10-320 µg/ml) and CoCl-induced hypoxia for different durations (24, 48, and 72 hr). Cell viability, calcium signaling, beating rate, and gene expression were evaluated.

Background: Agrobacterium-mediated transformation and particle bombardment are the two common approaches for genome editing in plant species using CRISPR/Cas9 system. Both methods require careful manipulations of undifferentiated cells and tissue culture to regenerate the potentially edited plants. However, tissue culture techniques are laborious and time-consuming.

BACKGROUND Carcinoma of unknown primary (CUP) is a diverse category of malignancies diagnosed in patients who have metastatic disease but without an identifiable primary tumor at initial presentation. CASE REPORT We report a case of CUP which was later diagnosed to be metastatic adenocarcinoma of the breast in a 62-year-old woman. The patient initially presented to a primary care clinic with an incidental finding of a small hard mass in the middle of the sternum, with no other clinical findings in the breast or axillary lymph nodes.

High-mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) has been implicated as a key player in two critical factors of Parkinson's disease (PD): mitochondrial dysfunction and neuroinflammation. However, the specific role of HMGB1 in PD remains elusive. We investigated the effect of 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP) administration on mitochondrial dysfunction and HMGB1-associated inflammatory genes as well as locomotor activity in zebrafish, aiming to elucidate the role of HMGB1 in PD.
