Background And Aim: Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is commonly used to diagnose and treat bile duct and pancreatic disorders. Successful cannulation of the papilla is crucial for the effectiveness of ERCP; however, sometimes, it can be challenging to achieve. This study explores the relationship between net difficult ERCP cannulation with bile visibility, papilla orifice visibility, and papilla position and compares it with successful cannulation.

We report the synthesis and characterization of graphene functionalized with iron (Fe) oxide (G-FeO) nanohybrids for radio-frequency magnetic hyperthermia application. We adopted the wet chemical procedure, using various contents of FeO (magnetite) from 0-100% for making two-dimensional graphene-FeO nanohybrids. The homogeneous dispersal of FeO nanoparticles decorated on the graphene surface combined with their biocompatibility and high thermal conductivity make them an excellent material for magnetic hyperthermia.

Research on amphibians and their conservation have gained worldwide attention, as the group includes the highest number of threatened and Data Deficient species when compared to other vertebrates. However, amphibians have long been neglected in wildlife conservation, management decisions, policy making, and research agendas in Pakistan. In this paper, an annotated checklist of the 21 amphibian species of Pakistan, a key to their identification, and detailed discussions on variation in species, including the genera and , are provided.

This study was conducted to see whether herpetofaunal assemblage differed amongst hiking trails, undisturbed forest and urban areas within the Margalla Hills National Park, Islamabad Capital Territory, Pakistan. Circular plot area-constrained searches (45 plots in each habitat, each plot with an area of 25 m) were used from March 2018 to July 2019. We recorded seven amphibian species, nine lizard species and six snake species.

High temperature sintering (1200-1400 °C) has been performed on ZnO ceramics. An X-ray Absorption Fine Structure (XAFS) study shows that high sintering temperature introduces a constant amount of V and V defects without any significant effect on the crystal or electronic structure of Wurtzite ZnO. The combined effects of grain boundaries and voids are considered responsible for the apparent colossal dielectric constant (') > 10 at low frequency (∼10 Hz) for all the sintered ZnO ceramics.

Herein, we report an eco-friendly, facile, one-pot, green synthesis of nanoceria for multiple biomedical applications. In the study, cerium oxide nanoparticles (CeO-NPs) were synthesized using a simple aqueous extract of as an effective reducing and capping agent. The biosynthesized nanoparticles were characterized UV-vis spectroscopy, X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and Raman spectroscopy.

Amlodipine, a second-generation calcium channel blocker, exhibits documented anti-inflammatory potential. Thereby, present investigation was accomplished with an aim to explore anti-arthritic potential of amlodipine, giving a second chance to an existing drug. For validation of anti-arthritic potential of amlodipine, some in vitro models comprised of bovine serum albumin- and egg albumin-induced protein denaturation along with membrane stabilization of red blood cell was being conducted.

In this work, three new bis-Schiff bases, namely 1,1'-(2,2'-dibromo-[1,1'-biphenyl]-4,4'-diyl)bis(-phenylmethanimine) (BNSB01), 1,1'-(2,2'-dibromo-[1,1'-biphenyl]-4,4'-diyl)bis(-(4-bromophenyl)methanimine) (BNSB02) and 4,4'-(((2,2'-dibromo-[1,1'-biphenyl]-4,4'-diyl)bis(methanylylidene))bis(azanylylidene))diphenol (BNSB03), were synthesized. These Schiff bases were evaluated for their corrosion inhibition ability on mild steel specimens in 0.5 M HCl by using electrochemical and weight loss techniques.

The present research work describes the synthesis of five new ligands containing pyridinium amine, [HL][OTf]-[HL][I] from two new precursors, [P ][I] and [P ][CFSO]. The structure elucidations of the compounds were confirmed by multinuclear NMR (H, C), FT-IR and by single crystal XRD techniques. Theoretical DFT studies were carried out to get better insight into the electronic levels and structural features of all the molecules.
