In the realm of disease vectors and agricultural pest management, insecticides play a crucial role in preserving global health and ensuring food security. The pervasive use, particularly of organophosphates (OPs), has given rise to a substantial challenge in the form of insecticide resistance. Carboxylesterases emerge as key contributors to OP resistance, owing to their ability to sequester or hydrolyze these chemicals.

Zirconium-based metal-organic frameworks (MOF) exhibiting 3D rhombohedral microcrystals were synthesized by the solvothermal method. The structure, morphology, composition, and optical properties of the synthesized MOF were carried out using different spectroscopic, microscopic, and diffraction techniques. Synthesized MOF was rhombohedral in shape and the cage structure of these crystalline molecules was the active binding site of the analyte, tetracycline (TET).

Food demand is expected to increase globally by 60-110% from 2005 to 2050 due to diet shifts and population growth. This growth in food demand leads to the generation of enormous agri-food wastes (AFWs), which could be classified into pre-consumption and post-consumption. The AFW represents economic losses for all stakeholders along food supply chains, including consumers.
