Extensive genetic studies have elucidated cardiomyocyte differentiation and associated gene networks using single-cell RNA-seq, yet the intricate transcriptional mechanisms governing cardiac conduction system (CCS) development and working cardiomyocyte differentiation remain largely unexplored. Here we show that mice deleted for Dhx36 (encoding the Dhx36 helicase) in the embryonic or neonatal heart develop overt dilated cardiomyopathy, surface ECG alterations related to cardiac impulse propagation, and (in the embryonic heart) a lack of a ventricular conduction system (VCS). Heart snRNA-seq and snATAC-seq reveal the role of Dhx36 in CCS development and in the differentiation of working cardiomyocytes.

microRNAs (miRNAs) are promising biomarkers for many diseases, including multiple sclerosis (MS). The neurofilament light chain (NfL) is a biomarker that can detect axonal damage in different neurological diseases. The objective of this study was to evaluate the association of the expression profile of pre-selected miRNAs and NfL levels with clinical and radiological variables in MS patients.

A plantar wart is a benign hyperplasia that appears on the feet due to the human papillomavirus (HPV). One method used for the treatment of recalcitrant plantar warts, those lasting over 2 years or persisting after at least two treatment attempts, is the cantharidin (1%), podophyllin (5%), and salicylic acid (30%) formulation, also known as the CPS formulation. Although this method is in use, there are few studies on it.

Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) has a high heritable component characteristic of complex diseases, yet many of the genetic risk factors remain unknown. We combined genome-wide association studies (GWAS) on amyloid endophenotypes measured in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and positron emission tomography (PET) as surrogates of amyloid pathology, which may be helpful to understand the underlying biology of the disease.
Methods: We performed a meta-analysis of GWAS of CSF Aβ42 and PET measures combining six independent cohorts (n=2,076).

Background: Physiotherapists encounter challenges in diagnosing myofascial trigger points (MTrPs), which are crucial for managing myofascial pain but difficult due to their complex referred pain patterns. We aimed to assess if an interactive software (MyofAPPcial) can enhance the ability of physical therapists specialized in musculoskeletal disorders (as clinicians and as researchers and educators) to identify referred pain patterns associated with specific MTrPs and to explore their opinion about incorporating this technology regularly into their professional setting.
Methods: After developing the app, a descriptive cross-sectional survey study was conducted.

Background: There are multiple conservative treatment options for plantar warts, but none have proven to be universally effective. Nitric acid is often used empirically by podiatrists in the treatment of plantar warts. A novel medical device or topical solution of nitric-zinc complex solution (NZCS) could potentially offer an effective and safe alternative for the targeted treatment of plantar warts.
