This work evaluates utilizing the native mussel Brachidontes pharaonis as a bioindicator and sentinel organism for monitoring heavy metals Cu, Zn, and Cd along the Red Sea coast of Egypt. Samples were collected from four coastal locations, and the concentrations of heavy metals in the mussels' tissues, shells, seawater, and sediments were analyzed. This study describes the development of novel alloxazine analogues as potent antitumor agents with enhanced selectivity for tumour cells. Twenty-nine out of 45 newly compounds were investigated for their growth inhibitory activities, against two human tumour cell lines, namely, the human T-cell acute lymphoblastoid leukaemia cell line (CCRF-HSB-2) and human oral epidermoid carcinoma cell line (KB), and the antitumor agent "Ara-C" was used as a positive reference in this investigation. Marine animals are challenged by chronically raised temperatures alongside an increased frequency of discrete, severe warming events. Exposure to repeated heat shocks could result in heat hardening, where sub-lethal exposure to thermal stress temporarily enhances thermotolerance, and may be an important mechanism by which marine species will cope with future thermal challenges. The underwater sound distribution generated by natural sources, shipping and trawling activities has been computed by the Quonops© modelling webservice for the Northern Adriatic Sea (NAS) during 2020, a year characterized by the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions. Modelling has been calibrated by using a year-long time series of field measurements covering the domain of interest.
