Background: Ubiquitin-specific protease 53 (USP53) deficiency is associated with familial intrahepatic cholestasis in which serum gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT) activity is relatively low. However, how USP53 deficiency contributes to cholestasis is obscure. No animal model has been reported.

Background: Perioperative anaphylaxis (POA) can lead to severe consequences. Identifying clinical risk factors and genetic loci associated with POA through pre-prescription screening may help reduce its incidence.

Methods: Using univariate regression and covariate-adjusted multivariate regression, we retrospectively analyzed the association between clinical characteristics and POA in 72 POA patients and 72 non-POA individuals.
