The purpose of research was to study the characteristics of eating behaviour (EB) and indicators visceral adipose tissue (VAT) in patients with NAFLD and obesity stage of 1-2 or excessive body mass on the background of hypertension (H). We examined 100 patients with NAFLD in combination with overweight and obesity of 1-2 degrees (body mass index - BMI ≥25 kg/m2) on the background of H I-II stage. Patients with NAFLD and visceral obesity on the background of stage H of I-II the identified three types of violations of EB with a significant predominance of external breach type EB (p<0,05) regardless of BMI.

Predisposition to antisocial behavior can be related to the presence of certain polymorphic variants of genes encoding dopaminergic system proteins. We studied the frequencies of allele variants and genotypes of variable number tandem repeat polymorphism in 3' untranslated region (3' VTNR) of the dopaminergic transporter SLC6A3 gene in Caucasian men committed socially dangerous violent and non-violent crimes. Alleles with 9 and 10 repeats were most frequent in both the control group and group of men predisposed to antisocial behavior.

The aim of the study was to assess the correlation of polymorphic marker -634G/С (rs2010963) of the VEGF-А gene and formation of AH combined with obesity in premenopausal women. The data of 115 women with stage II of AH, grade 1-2 and obesity I-II gr.

Recent years have demonstrated the possible existence of association between infection Helicobacter pylori (HP), coronary heart disease (CHD) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM-2). The refinement of traditional and non-traditional factors of cardiovascular risk in patients with CHD in association with DM-2 of HP-seropositiveis currently important. In this regard, we have studied the influence of HP infection on cardiovascular risk in patients with CHD and DM-2.

The lung provides not only respiration, but also the functioning of innate immunity mechanisms. The hydrophilic proteins SP-A and SP-D are responsible for the regulation of the latter. In the literature, there is evidence for elevated serum SP-A and SP-D levels in respiratory diseases accompanied by enhanced mucosal inflammation of the lung or its parenchymal injury and their association with age and cardiovascular diseases has been recently found.

Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) of the brain was applied for preclinical evaluation of the efficiency of Divaza preparation intended for the treatment of cerebrovascular disorders. Psychological testing (Stroop task) in the magnetic field of fMRI was performed before and after 12-week treatment course using a double blind placebo-controlled protocol. It was shown that standard psychological and neuropsychological protocols do not allow fully estimate the results of treatment, whereas fMRI targeted the pool of cerebral structures activated during task solution.

Activity and levels of protein and mRNA of 3-hydroxy-3-methyl-glutaryl-CoA reductase were estimated in rat liver after the administration of atorvastatin and simvastatin and their complexes with glycyrrhizic acid (atorvaglyzin and simvaglyzin). The amount of 3-hydroxy-3-methyl-glutaryl-CoA reductase protein in rats decreased by 13 and 25% (p<0.05) 24 h after treatment with atorvaglyzin and simvaglyzin, respectively.

We studied effects of zymosan, double-stranded RNA, LPS of E. coli and bacterial CpG DNA, agonists of toll-like receptor TLR2, TLR3, TLR4 and TLR9, respectively, on the formation of macrophage/foam cells 24 h after induction of acute peritonitis. Administration of agonists led to transformation of peritoneal macrophages into foam cells and significant activation of cell biosynthesis and increased the content of triglycerides and cholesterol esters in the absence of LDL and irrespective of the capacity of TLR agonists to stimulate neutrophil infiltration and TNF-α production in the peritoneal cavity.

We studied the effect of bezafibrate on hepatic PPARα activity and immune parameters in hypertensive ISIAH rats in comparison with normotensive WAG rats under conditions of LPS treatment. Bezafibrate increased activity of PPARα in WAG rats, but not in ISIAH rats. As differentiated from WAG rats, bezafibrate produced a potent effect on the content of T cell subpopulations in the thymus and spleen of ISIAH rats.

The effects of LPS from E. coli on DNA-binding activities of PPARα and PPARγ in the liver and immune system parameters of were studied in hypertensive ISIAH rats and normotensive WAG rats. In ISIAH rats characterized by low basal level of PPARα, PPARγ, and HDL, the response of the peripheral immune system compartment to LPS was more pronounced and was not associated with decrease in DNA-binding activities of PPARα observed in WAG.

The concentrations of LPO products (including those present in LDL), oxidative modification of proteins, paraoxonase activity, concentrations of antioxidants, lipid values and biomarkers of endothelial dysfunction were studied in the blood and coronary artery intima/media of male patients with coronary atherosclerosis without acute coronary syndrome. Blood levels of LDL oxidized apolipoproteins and lipoprotein (a) were higher, while the content of NO metabolites, sVCAM endothelial adhesion molecules, and LDL oxidation resistance were lower in men with mainly unstable atherosclerotic plaques in the coronary arteries in comparison with men with mainly stable plaques in the coronary arteries. Of these blood biomarkers, only NO metabolites, oxidized proteins, and sVCAM correlated with the presence of unstable atherosclerotic plaques.

Inflammatory biomarkers and chemoattractants characteristic and important for different types (lipid; inflammatory erosive; degenerative necrotic) of unstable plaques in coronary arteries were identified and studied in male patients with coronary atherosclerosis without acute coronary syndrome we studied. Among the three types of unstable plaques, elevated concentrations of IL-1β, IL-6, IL-8, IL-18 and monocyte chemotactic protein-1 were characteristic of not only inflammatory erosive type, but also lipid type compared with degenerative necrotic type. Thus, intensification of the inflammatory process plays an important role in the development of not only inflammatory and destructive, but also of lipid type of unstable atherosclerotic plaques.

Blood levels of stem cell marker proteins CD34 and osteonectin were studied in male patients with coronary atherosclerosis by direct biomagnetic separation of proteins with magnetic microspheres using the PureProteome Protein A and Protein G Magnetic Beads proteomic technology. High concentration of osteonectin in the blood was detected, particularly in men with stenosing atherosclerosis and coronary artery calcinosis. Blood osteonectin concentration correlated significantly with some key biomarkers of atherosclerosis and with stenosing atherosclerosis and calcinosis of coronary arteries.
