Among toxic elements, arsenic (As) comes under group 1 carcinogenic metalloid. Its presence in the soil and irrigation water in a higher concentration than permissible limit has become a threat to crop production and human livelihood. Crop plants, specifically those used as staple foods, exhibit the highest As accumulation which subsequently accumulates in the human body after their consumption, leading to severe fatal diseases.

Oleogels can be formed using different types of oleogelator, which lead to different end properties. In this study, four kinds of oleogelators, rice bran wax (RBW), monoglyceride stearate (MG), beeswax (BW), and a mixture of β-sitosterol and γ-oryzanol (SO) were used to prepare astaxanthin-loaded macadamia oil-based oleogels. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, polarized light microscopy, X-ray diffraction, differential scanning calorimetry, and dynamic shear rheometry were then used to evaluate the effects of the different oleogelators and astaxanthin on the physicochemical properties of the oleogels.

A study aimed to investigate the signaling pathway of zearalenone (ZEA) leading to the apoptosis of ovarian granulosa cells (GCs) and explore the potential of vitamin E (VE) in alleviating ZEA-induced apoptosis of GCs. We constructed an apoptosis model for GCs based on exposure to the environmental toxin ZEA. Transcriptome analysis revealed that ZEA induced endoplasmic reticulum stress by activating the ATF4-Chop pathway.

Introduction: The plant genome encodes a plethora of proteins with structural similarity to animal receptor protein kinases, collectively known as receptor-like protein kinases (RLKs), which predominantly localize to the plasma membrane where they activate their kinase domains to convey extracellular signals to the interior of the cell, playing crucial roles in various signaling pathways. Despite the large number of members within the RLK family, to date, only a few have been identified as pattern-recognition receptors (PRRs), leaving many potential RLKs that could play roles in plant immunity undiscovered.
Methods: In this study, a recombinant strategy was initially employed to screen the kinase domains of 133 RLKs in the Arabidopsis genome to determine their involvement in the pathogen-triggered immunity (PTI) pathway.
