The cytoskeleton of mammal oocytes provides structural support to the plasma membrane and contributes to critical cellular dynamic processes such as nuclear positioning, germinal vesicle breakdown, spindle orientation, chromosome segregation, polar body extrusion, and transmembrane signaling pathways. The ERM family (ezrin, radixin and moesin) well known as membrane-cytoskeletal crosslinkers play a crucial role in organizing plasma membrane domains through their capacity to interact with transmembrane proteins and the underlying cytoskeleton. Recent works mainly focused on the structural analysis of the ERM family members and their binding partners, together with multiple functions in cell mitosis, have significantly advanced our understanding of the importance of membrane-cytoskeletal interactions.

FVP is a polysaccharide extracted from Flammulina velutipes with immunomodulatory, anti-tumor, and anti-oxidation activities. In this study, we obtained the crude polysaccharide FVP-C from the water extract of Flammulina velutipes, and its main component FVP-S1 was obtained after further purification. Upon structural identification, we found that FVP-C is a neutral polysaccharide, and FVP-S1 was an acidic golden mushroom polysaccharide, consisting of glucuronic acid, xylose, and glucose.

The Arctic fox () is a species indigenous to the Arctic and has developed unique lipid metabolism, but the mechanisms remain unclear. Here, the significantly increased body weight of Arctic foxes was consistent with the significantly increased serum very-low-density lipoprotein (VLDL), and the 40% crude fat diet further increased the Arctic fox body weight. The enhanced body weight gain stems primarily from increased subcutaneous adipose tissue accumulation.

As a common foodborne pathogen, infection with poses a significant threat to human life and health. The objective of this study was to employ comparative genomics to unveil the biodiversity and evolutionary characteristics of strains from different regions, screening for potential target genes and mining novel target genes, thus providing significant reference value for the specific molecular detection and therapeutic targets of strains. Pan-genomic analysis revealed that from different regions have open genomes, providing a solid genetic basis for adaptation to different environments.

Canine distemper virus (CDV) is a highly contagious and potentially lethal virus that affects dogs and other members of the Canidae family, including wolves, foxes, and coyotes. Here, we present a fluorescent lateral flow immunoassay (FLFA) platform for the detection of CDV, which utilizes fluorescent microspheres - fusion protein monoclonal antibody (mAb)-labeled monoclonal antibody. This study evaluated the nutrition composition, the nutrient digestibility, and the energy value of six protein ingredients used in pet food by the difference method in six beagles within a 7 × 6 incomplete Latin square design. The results showed that the apparent total tract digestibility of gross energy (GE) and organic matter (OM) in beagles fed the fish meal (FM) and corn gluten meal (CGM) diets was higher than for those fed the meat and bone meal (MBM), soybean meal (SBM), mealworm meal (MM), and yeast extract (YE) diets ( < 0.05).

This review presents an integrative overview of the secondary metabolites derived from species, elucidating their respective biological activities and potential pharmacological applications. The metabolites under scrutiny encompass a diverse array of biological macromolecules, specifically polysaccharides and lectins, as well as a diverse group of 80 documented small molecular chemical constituents, classified into sterols, sesquiterpenes, volatile compounds, polyenes, and other compounds, their manifesting anti-inflammatory, anticancer, antioxidant, hepatoprotective, antimicrobial, and antidiabetic activities, these metabolites, in which polysaccharides exhibit abundant activities, underscore the potential of the genus as a valuable source of biologically active natural products.
