In response to the increase in adolescent mental health problems, related intervention research has flourished. This study examined 2258 mental health intervention studies captured by the Web of Science, focusing on their distribution, interdisciplinary collaboration, and emerging trends, using bibliometric analysis. Our findings revealed a rise in studies and enhanced collaboration across disciplines, with studies from the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom showing high academic output, intellectual impact, and strong scientific partnerships.

This study estimates temporal trajectories and sociodemographic disparities in underage adolescent binge drinking in the United States over the past four decades. By compiling 47 waves of national representative data from the Monitoring the Future (MTF) study between 1976 and 2022, we analyzed two types of adolescent binge drinking behaviors, past-two-week excessive drinking and drunkenness in the past 30 days, using the innovative modified Poisson (mixture) approach to grouped and right-censored counts (GRC). The overall decrease in incidence rates was attributable to substantial reductions in the risks of excessive drinking (45.

Fostering positive attitudes toward aging among older adults serves as a key measure of success in promoting active aging. Based on microdata from the China Longitudinal Aging Social Survey in 2018, this study uses ordinary least squares (OLS) and the two-stage least squares (2SLS) to evaluate the impact of smartphone use on the attitudes toward aging among older adults in rural areas. The results show that smartphone use significantly relieves older adults' negative attitudes toward aging, with effects persisting even after employing robust estimations and instrumental variable techniques to address endogeneity concerns.

Background: Internet gaming disorder (IGD) is an emerging behavioral addiction with mental health implications among adolescents. Low self-control is an established risk factor of IGD. Few studies have, however, examined the moderating role of meaning in life (MIL) on the relationships between low self-control and IGD symptoms and functioning.

Background: In China, over 5 million people have been identified and registered by the public security institutions for using illicit drugs. The aim of this study is to compare the influence of different types of illicit drugs on the self-reported mental health of Chinese people. In particular, we want to assess the damage of Heroin, Methamphetamine and Ketamine to mental health in a social environment where drug use is strictly regulated.

Background: Adolescent Internet gaming addiction (IGA) is an pincreasing global concern. Drawing on self-control theory, social support theory, and problem behavior theory, this study aimed to examine the relationships between low self-control, perceived social support, and IGA among Chinese Yi and Non-Yi adolescents, with a focus on the moderating role of perceived social support and ethnic differences.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 1,997 adolescents (53.

Social confidence functions as a vital spiritual force in fostering the positive and healthy evolution of society. This paper explores how social media exposure contributes to the construction of social confidence within the framework of Media-system Dependency Theory. The research unveils the following key findings: (1) Social media exposure positively facilitates social confidence; (2) Group efficacy and group cohesion, perceived as manifestations of cognitive divergence between "efficacy" and "collective" within collective efficacy, both serve as mediating mechanisms influencing the impact of social media exposure on social confidence.

Background: With the advent of new media technology, WeChat, as China's largest social networking platform, has significantly impacted people's lives. Growing concerns exist about social media usage, particularly regarding mental health issues stemming from problematic smartphone use. However, limited research has explored the relationship between social media usage and mental health among older adults in China, particularly the mechanisms influencing this relationship.

Introduction: The use rate of electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) among adolescents is continuously rising globally, posing new challenges to public health and negatively impacting adolescent health. This study employs bibliometric methods to systematically present the current state and evolving trends in global research on adolescent e-cigarette use.
Methods: This study uses CiteSpace to conduct a bibliometric analysis of articles related to adolescent e-cigarette use from the Web of Science (WoS) Core Collection database.

Background: Nationwide evidence linking maternal ozone exposure with fetal growth restriction (FGR) was extensively scarce, especially in the Middle East with dry climate and distinct religious culture.
Methods: We carried out a national retrospective birth cohort study using registry-based records from 749 hospitals across 31 provinces in Iran from 2013 to 2018. Monthly concentrations of maximum daily average 8-hour (MDA8) ozone at 0.

Long-term mortality effects of particulate air pollution have been investigated in a causal analytic frame, while causal evidence for associations with gaseous air pollutants remains extensively lacking, especially for carbon monoxide (CO) and sulfur dioxide (SO). In this study, we estimated the causal relationship of long-term exposure to nitrogen dioxide (NO), CO, SO, and ozone (O) with mortality. Utilizing the data from National Morbidity, Mortality, and Air Pollution Study, we applied a variant of difference-in-differences (DID) method with conditional Poisson regression and generalized weighted quantile sum regression (gWQS) to investigate the independent and joint effects.

Background: Evidence linking nitrogen dioxide (NO) air pollution to life span of high-vulnerability older adults is extensively scarce in low- and middle-income countries. This study seeks to quantify mortality risk, excess deaths, and loss of life expectancy (LLE) associated with long-term exposure to NO among elderly individuals in China.
Methods: A nationwide dynamic cohort of 20352 respondents ≥65 years old were enrolled from the China Longitudinal Health and Longevity Survey during 2005-2018.

Based on the 2017 data from the China General Social Survey (CGSS), the conditional process analysis method was used to explore the relationship between physical exercise and subjective well-being, as well as the mediating effect of social capital and the moderating effect of Internet use. This study found that the effect of physical exercise on subjective well-being includes both direct effects and indirect effects. Physical exercise directly and positively affects SWB and partially affects SWB through social networks as a mediating variable.

Background: Immigrant caregivers support the aging population, yet their own needs are often neglected. Mobile technology-facilitated interventions can promote caregiver health by providing easy access to self-care materials.
Objective: This study employed a design thinking framework to examine Chinese immigrant caregivers' (CICs) unmet self-care needs and co-design an app for promoting self-care with CICs.
