Purpose: Inherited retinal disorders (IRD) are a complex group of conditions. By developing the first patient-reported experience measurement (PREM) questionnaire tailored for individuals with IRD participating in natural history studies, we gathered information on individuals' views of their experience while they are involved in research.
Methods: Adults with IRD who (i) were enrolled in a natural history study taking place at Moorfields Eye Hospital (London, UK), (ii) had attended at least two study visits, (iii) the most recent one being less than two weeks before the questionnaire, and (iv) who were not involved in interventional research, were considered for participation.

Ocular point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) has emerged as a pivotal tool in evaluating ocular emergencies in the emergency department (ED), addressing millions of annual visits for eye complaints in the United States. Compared to traditional imaging methods, ocular POCUS's advantages include efficiency, repeatability, and safety. Adequate patient preparation, positioning, and transducer selection are essential for obtaining high-quality images.

Background: Increased care demands at a health care institution led to strained resources, emergency department (ED) congestion, safety events, and patient and employee dissatisfaction. Moreover, high volumes of afternoon discharges contributed to limited early morning bed availability and admission bottlenecks.
Methods: A 29-month pre-post design quality improvement project on 19 acute care, adult medicine units across two campuses at a large academic medical center was implemented to improve discharge timeliness, length of stay (LOS), and ED throughput by increasing pre-11:00 a.

Introduction: Hospitalisations can pose hazards and may not be an appropriate care setting for frail nursing home (NH) residents. Few studies have quantified the extent of NH resident hospitalisations in Singapore, hence we aimed to address this knowledge gap by studying characteristics of unplanned hospitalisations over a 1-year period.
Method: This was a retrospective cohort study of 9922 subsidised residents across 59 NHs in Singapore, with analysis using administrative healthcare data.

Epidemiologic studies have suggested an association between the consumption of dietary advanced glycation end products (dAGEs) and the incidence of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). However, the precise mechanism by which dAGEs induce NAFLD development, particularly the pathogenic role of the gut-liver axis, remains poorly understood. In this study, by establishing a high-AGE diet (HAD)-fed C57BL/6 mouse model, we employed multiomics approaches combined with a series of biological analyses to investigate the effect of HAD on NAFLD .

Hyperspectral remote sensing images obtained from cameras are characterized by high-dimensions and low quality, which makes them unfavorable for various analytics purposes. This is due to the presence of visible and invisible frequencies of the reflected light making it poorly reveal the spectral signatures of the image. Visual communication advancement has paved the need for Image Super-Resolution (SR) which recovers high-resolution images from low-resolution images.

Integrating photocatalysis technology with peroxymonosulfate oxidation possesses huge potential for degrading stubborn pollutant. Herein, a porous ultra-thin carbon nitride with C-defect O-doping and advanced n-π* transition was customized by one-pot thermal-induced polymerization of molten urea assisted with paraformaldehyde. Via visible-light coupling peroxymonosulfate activation, the DCN-100 can completely photodegrade 2,4-dichlorophenol, and rate constant is 136.

The high prevalence of food insecurity in the United Kingdom has been exacerbated by the cost-of-living crisis. In high-income countries, those experiencing food insecurity struggle to buy and consume foods that meet Government healthy eating recommendations, and are at increased risk of obesity, linked to poor diet quality. Individuals in high-income countries purchase most of their food to consume at home from supermarkets, making this an important context within which healthier and environmentally sustainable food purchasing should be supported.
