Hirsutulla thompsoni (HTS) is an entomopathogenic fungus (EPF), a secure and efficient substitute for synthetic insecticides. However, its susceptibility to degradation in conventional formulations limits its practical use for agricultural practices. In light of current setbacks, this work proposes using a glycerol-silica/chitosan nanoflower gel (NFG) as an efficient delivery system to enhance the efficacy of HTS.

Human exposure to mycotoxins through food involve a mixture of compounds, which can be harmful to human health. The Fusarium fungal species are known to produce zearalenone (ZEN), a non-steroidal estrogenic mycotoxin, and its metabolite alpha-zearalenol (α-ZEL), both of which possess endocrine-disruptive properties. Given their potential harm to human health through food exposure, investigating the combined effects of ZEN and α-ZEL becomes crucial.

Accurately identifying and quantifying toxicants is crucial for medico-legal investigations in forensic toxicology; however, low analyte concentrations and the complex samples matrix make this work difficult. Therefore, a simplified sample preparation procedure is crucial to streamline the analysis to minimize sample handling errors, reduce cost and improve the overall efficiency of analysis of toxicants. To address these challenges, an innovative disposable in-tip cellulose paper (DICP) device has been developed for the extraction of three pesticides viz.

An enzymatic approach for the synthesis of Molnupiravir has been developed using immobilized lipase as a biocatalyst. This method involves a concise process of the regioselective esterification of uridine with isobutyric anhydride using Lipase (Addzyme-011). This efficient route gets 97% conversion of uridine , with an overall 73% yield of molnupiravir in two steps.

Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have been widely utilized in various biomedical and antimicrobial technologies, displaying broad-spectrum activities against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria including multidrug-resistant strains. However, the emergence of resistance to AgNPs upon repeated exposure and the survival of bacteria after initial exposure to antimicrobial agents pose a threat, as they may lead to the development of new resistant populations. To combat the early stages of antibacterial resistance, systematic analysis is essential to understand the immediate response of bacteria to antimicrobial agents.

Neonicotinoids, the class of insecticides used for crop protection, are subjected to vigilance due to their pernicious impacts. Imidacloprid (IMD) is one of the most representative insecticides of the neonicotinoid family, which has shown unfriendly consequences for non-target species. Metabolomics, a multidisciplinary approach, is being used in toxicological research to understand the metabolic responses to toxicant exposure by utilizing modern analytical techniques.

Garcinol (GAR) is a polyisoprenylated benzophenone obtained from Garcinia indica used as anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory in traditional medicine and due to these activities, it possesses anticancer properties. It is considered to be a next generation epigenetic drug. A green solvent based analytical method which is efficient, sophisticated, and highly enriched has been developed for the quantitative analysis of GAR in biological samples (plasma, liver, kidney and spleen) with the use of deep eutectic solvent (DES) for its extraction.

Mosquitoes are infectious vectors for a wide range of pathogens and parasites thereby transmitting several diseases including malaria, dengue, Zika, Japanese encephalitis and chikungunya which pose a major public health concern. Mostly synthetic insecticides are usually applied as a primary control strategy to manage vector-borne diseases. However excessive and non-judicious usage of such chemically derived insecticides has led to serious environmental and health issues owing to their biomagnification ability and increased toxicity towards non-target organisms.

Intensification of aquaculture production leads to abiotic and biotic stresses, which are further induced by the impact of climate change. Thus, it is important to explore a combined strategy to alleviate multiple stresses in fish. In the present investigation, the removal of nitrogenous metabolites from aquaponics water was studied using products derived from five different locally available medicinal and aromatic plants (MAPs) namely banana stem (Musa Accuminata), Aloe vera, Mint (Minata sepicata), Indian beech/Pongameoil-tree/Karanj (Pongamia pinnatum), and Coat Button/Mexican daisy/Dagadipala (Tridax procrumbens) in the batch experiment for 24 h.

Environmental contamination by intense insecticide usage is consistently proposed as a significant contributor to major hazards; further, disturbing non-target populations provoke a grave concern worldwide as they play essential roles in ecosystems. Pyriproxyfen is one of the most widely used pesticides; however, due to its probable toxicity, its global application in large amounts may result in water concentrations that exceed regulatory pollution thresholds. Herein, we describe nanopyriproxyfen-loaded sago beads (PPX-NCB) designed for the slow release of pyriproxyfen (PPX).

Bio-inspired nanoparticles, including metallic, micelles, and polymeric, have been explored as a novel tool in the quest for effective and safe agrochemicals. Although nanoparticles (NPs) are being rapidly investigated for their usefulness in agricultural production and protection, little is known about the behaviour and interaction of oil-in-water micelle nanoparticles or nano-micelles (NM) with plants. We loaded a bio-based resin inherent of tree from the Pinaceae family as active material and produced stable nano-micelles using a natural emulsifier system.

Although safe and eco-friendly botanical pesticides have been intensively promoted to combat pest attacks in agriculture, but their stability and efficacies remain an issue for their wide acceptability as sustained and effective approaches. The purpose of this work was to develop stable neem oil based nano-emulsion (NE) formulation with enhanced activity employing suitable bio-inspired adjuvant. So, Neem NEs (with and without) natural adjuvants (Cymbopogon citratus and Prosopis juliflora) in different concentrations were prepared and quality parameters dictating kinetic stability, acidity/alkalinity, viscosity, droplet size, zeta potential, surface tension, stability and compatibility were monitored using Viscometer, Zetasizer, Surface Tensiometer, High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR).

The main objective of this study is to develop polymeric encapsulated formulation for the water soluble broad-spectrum pesticides. Pesticides contaminate the environment in different ways but foremost hazards are linked with the contamination of water bodies. Water soluble pesticides are the major deleterious agents and go off into ground water and different water bodies through leaching or surface runoff from the applied places.
