Objectives: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has changed the dietary behavior of college students; however, the persistence of the changes in dietary behavior remains uncertain. This study aims to explore the changes in school food consumption and dietary quality of college students during three distinct COVID-19 periods: pre-epidemic (stage T1), epidemic (stage T2), and post-COVID-19 epidemic (stage T3).
Methods: The persistent 6-year data, involving 3,484,081 dietary records from January 2018 to December 2023, for college students were acquired from the "Intelligent Ordering System (IOS)".

The risks associated with wound infections are significant, making a snug-fitting hydrogel dressing an optimal choice for wound management. For it, we employed the self-cross-linking method of oxidized sodium alginate (SCSA), incorporating clarithromycin (Cla) and basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) to formulate a rapidly forming, bacteriostatic, and wound-healing hydrogel (SCSA@C/b). Bacteriostatic and cytocompatibility assays demonstrated that SCSA@C/b exhibits exceptional antibacterial activity alongside strong biocompatibility.

Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) originates from the mucosal epithelium of the oral cavity, pharynx, and larynx, and is marked by high rates of recurrence and metastasis. Calcium signaling is associated with the progression of HNSCC and the development of drug resistance. Changes in calcium ion flow can trigger severe pathophysiological processes, including malignant transformation, tumor proliferation, epithelial-mesenchymal transition, and apoptosis evasion.

Background: The treatment of refractory chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) with omalizumab has been well studied based on clinical evaluation. Nevertheless, ideal quantitative or qualitative biomarkers for predicting a different response to biologics urgently need to be explored. We aim to identify potential biomarkers for predicting a good or poor response in patients with refractory CRSwNP.

Background: Moderate to severe persistent allergic rhinitis (AR) poses a substantial socioeconomic burden.
Objectives: We aimed to establish the superiority of bencycloquidium bromide (BCQB) nasal spray and BCQB combined with mometasone furoate nasal spray (MFNS) over MFNS alone in adults with moderate-to-severe persistent AR.
Methods: In this multicentre, randomised controlled clinical trial (NCT05038202), adults with moderate-to-severe persistent AR were randomly assigned to receive the BCQB, MFNS, or a combination treatment, for 4-week periods.

Background: Cochlear implants (CIs) have the potential to facilitate auditory restoration in deaf children and contribute to the maturation of the auditory cortex. The type of CI may impact hearing rehabilitation in children with CI. We aimed to study central auditory processing activation patterns during speech perception in Mandarin-speaking pediatric CI recipients with different device characteristics.

Craniofacial dysmorphism, skeletal anomalies, and impaired intellectual development syndrome (CFSMR1; Online Inheritance in Man number 213980) is characterized by craniofacial dysmorphism, skeletal anomalies, and mental retardation. However, reports of hearing issues have been limited. To investigate hearing-related aspects of CFSMR1, Tmco1 knockout mice (Tmco1) exhibiting similar symptoms to human patients were used in this study.

Head and neck squamous carcinoma (HNSC), characterized by a high degree of malignancy, develops in close association with the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME). Therefore, identifying effective targets related to HNSC and TIME is of paramount importance. Here, we employed the ESTIMATE algorithm to compute immune and stromal cell scores for HNSC samples from the TCGA database and identified differentially expressed genes (DEGs) based on these scores.

Objective: Aim: To improve the effectiveness of surgical treatment for patients with post-traumatic tympanic membrane perforations and concurrent Eustachian tube dysfunction through simultaneous combined surgical methods.
Patients And Methods: Materials and Methods: We analyzed clinical and functional outcomes of 35 patients (mean age: 34 ± 10,5 years) with tympanic membrane perforations caused by acoustic and blast injuries. The patients were divided into two groups: the first group (n=17) underwent only tympanoplasty type 1, while the second group (n=18) underwent simultaneous septoplasty, inferior turbinectomy, and tympanoplasty with prolonged middle ear ventilation using a subanular Silverstein tube.

Background: Cells in the body reside in a dynamic microenvironment subjected to various physical stimuli, where mechanical stimulation plays a crucial role in regulating cellular physiological behaviors and functions.
Aim Of Review: Investigating the mechanisms and interactions of mechanical transmission is essential for understanding the physiological and functional interplay between cells and physical stimuli. Therefore, establishing an in vitro biomechanical stimulation cell culture system holds significant importance for research related to cellular biomechanics.

Noise-induced hearing loss is a worldwide public health issue that is characterized by temporary or permanent changes in hearing sensitivity. This condition is closely linked to inflammatory responses, and interventions targeting the inflammatory gene tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNFα) are known to mitigate cochlear noise damage. TNFα-induced proteins (TNFAIPs) are a family of translucent acidic proteins, and TNFAIP6 has a notable association with inflammatory responses.
