The objective of this work was to determine the response of the circulatory system to heavy physical work (the average energy expenditure was about 5000 kJ/shift). The tests were performed on a group of 35 women aged between 24 and 50 years, employed at a printing office as printing machine operators. The average length of employment for the group was 17 years (3-28 years).
