Home parenteral nutrition (HPN) is a complex therapy, which requires dedicated facilities and expertise. However, the management and provision of HPN differs significantly between countries and between HPN centers within countries. Background: Mass spectrometry (MS)-based cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) proteomics is an important method for discovering biomarkers of neurodegenerative diseases. However, the effects of TNF blockade on short- and long-term immune responses after repeated vaccination remain unclear. Background: Both overweight/obesity and a Western lifestyle are associated with a poorer prognosis in women with breast cancer. The primary aim of this analysis was to examine the effect of a telephone-delivered lifestyle intervention program on reducing body weight and waist circumference, decreasing cardiovascular risk factors and improving lifestyle.

Design: Data is derived from an open-label, randomized, controlled phase III study that evaluated two chemotherapy regimens and the impact of a 2-year lifestyle intervention on disease-free survival and secondary outcomes in women with intermediate-risk to high-risk breast cancer.

Recent studies have shown that elevated concentrations of unconjugated bilirubin (UCB) may be a protective host factor against the development of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), whereas low levels of UCB are associated with the opposite effect. The results of this European study, in which 2,489 samples were tested for their UCB concentration using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and additional data from the MARK-AGE database were used for analysis, provide further evidence that elevated UCB concentrations are linked to a lower risk of developing NCDs and may act as a predictive marker of biological aging as individuals with elevated UCB concentrations showed favorable outcomes in metabolic health and oxidative-stress-related biomarkers. These findings underline the significance of studying individuals with moderate hyperbilirubinemia and investigate UCB routinely, also in the setting of aging, since this condition affects millions of people worldwide but has been underrepresented in clinical research and practice until now.

Sex-specific abdominal organ volume and proton density fat fraction (PDFF) in people with obesity during a weight loss intervention was assessed with automated multiorgan segmentation of quantitative water-fat MRI. An nnU-Net architecture was employed for automatic segmentation of abdominal organs, including visceral and subcutaneous adipose tissue, liver, and psoas and erector spinae muscle, based on quantitative chemical shift-encoded MRI and using ground truth labels generated from participants of the Lifestyle Intervention (LION) study. Background: 6-Bromo-7-[C]methylpurine ([C]BMP) is a radiotracer for positron emission tomography (PET) to measure multidrug resistance-associated protein 1 (MRP1) transport activity in different tissues. Previously reported radiosyntheses of [C]BMP afforded a mixture of 7- and 9-[C]methyl regioisomers. To prepare for clinical use, we here report an improved regioselective radiosynthesis of [C]BMP, the results of a non-clinical toxicity study as well as human dosimetry estimates based on mouse PET data.
