Aim: One of the conditions for the increasing number of transplants in Poland is the high level of knowledge and the accepting attitude toward organ transplantation in society. The aim of the present study is to get to know the level of knowledge and attitudes of students toward organ transplants.

Material And Methods: The study was conducted in June 2017 using a diagnostic survey and estimation method using two research tools: a questionnaire survey and a message test.

Association between hearing organ and renal function in young adult type 1 diabetic patients: A cross-sectional study.

Type 1 diabetes can lead to impaired function of many organs and tissues. The aim of this study was to evaluate associations between hearing and kidney function in young adult type 1 diabetic patients. 31 patients (9 women) with type 1 diabetes, aged <45, with disease duration <10 years were included.

Oxytocin Administration in High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound Treatment of Myomata.

Objectives: The aim of the study was to evaluate the clinical efficacy of magnetic resonance-guided High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) in patients with symptomatic uterine fibroids (myomata) after application of oxytocin.

Methods: 156 women with symptomatic uterine fibroids were treated using MR-guided HIFU procedure. 51 patients had additional IV administration of 40 IU of oxytocin in 5% Glucose or 0,9% NaCl solution during therapy.

Use of negative pressure wound therapy in a chronic leg wound with coexisting rheumatoid arthritis: a case study.

We present a case of a 69-year-old woman with rheumatoid arthritis. The patient's condition was managed with steroid therapy for more than 12 years. She had a coexisting infected chronic ulceration in the left leg, which was treated with negative pressure wound therapy for 52 days.

Bioelectrical Impedance Phase Angle as an Indicator of Malnutrition in Hospitalized Children with Diagnosed Inflammatory Bowel Diseases-A Case Control Study.

The phase angle (PhA) seems to be a reliable screening tool for the identification of malnutrition risk in hospitalized children with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The aim of the present study was to assess the body composition and nutritional status of hospitalized children and adolescents with IBD by using bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) with phase angle (PhA) calculation, which has not been evaluated in hospitalized children with IBD yet. A total of 59 children and adolescents aged 4–18 years, with IBD: 34 ulcerative colitis (UC) and 25 Crohn’s disease (CD) were included in the study.

Urinary sucrose and fructose to validate self-reported sugar intake in children and adolescents: results from the I.Family study.

Purpose: Excessive consumption of free sugar increases the risk for non-communicable diseases where a proper assessment of this intake is necessary to correctly estimate its association with certain diseases. Urinary sugars have been suggested as objective biomarkers for total and free sugar intake in adults but less is known about this marker in children and adolescents. Therefore, the aim of this exploratory study is to evaluate the relative validity of self-reported intake using urinary sugars in children and adolescents.

The Relationship between Physical Activity and Screen Time with the Risk of Hypertension in Children and Adolescents with Intellectual Disability.

Introduction: Children and adolescents with intellectual disability (ID) have significantly lower levels of physical activity compared to their peers without ID. Association between the level of physical activity and screen time with hypertension (HPT) in children and adolescents with ID has not been reported yet.

Aim: To assess the relationship between the level of physical activity and screen time with the prevalence of HPT in students with ID.
