Chalcones (α-phenyl-β-benzoylethylene) and their natural-source derivatives have been investigated for their remarkable biological activities, like neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory, and anti-tumor properties. A triazole chalcone ligand (E)-3-(4-(dimethylamino)phenyl)-1-(4-((1-(2-(4-((E)-3-(4(dimethylamino)phenyl)acryloyl)phenoxy)ethyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)methoxy)phenyl)prop-2-en-1-one (L1) was synthesized by Cu(I)- catalysed click reaction. The mechanistic properties of L1 for therapy were evaluated by analyzing the binding interactions between L1 and bovine serum albumin (BSA) through photophysical and computational studies.

Vildagliptin (VDG) and Metformin (Met) belong to a class of dipeptidylpeptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor and biguanide, respectively and used for the management of diabetes mellitus type II (DMTII). Both the drugs are orally available which leads to various side effects due to its oral ingestion. Occurrence of these side effects might be due to some interactions with pepsin at a molecular level.

A new era in tumor classification, diagnosis, and prognostic evaluation has begun as a consequence of recent developments in the molecular and genetic characterization of central nervous system tumors. In this newly emerging era, molecular imaging modalities are essential for preoperative diagnosis, surgical planning, targeted treatment, and post-therapy evaluation of gliomas. The radiotracers are able to identify brain tumors, distinguish between low- and high-grade lesions, confirm a patient's eligibility for theranostics, and assess post-radiation alterations.

Melanin protects skin cells from ultraviolet radiation-induced DNA damage. However, intermediates of eumelanin are highly reactive quinones that are potentially genotoxic. In this study, we systematically investigate the effect of sustained elevation of melanogenesis and map the consequent cellular repair response of melanocytes.

Objective: Polycystic ovary (PCO), a diagnostic component of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), requires either an ovarian volume (OV) criterion or a follicle number per ovary (FNPO) criterion. This study investigated the association of OV and FNPO criteria with various manifestations of PCOS.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted at a university hospital among 100 patients newly diagnosed with PCOS (according to the revised Rotterdam criteria).

Trichostatin A (TSA), a potential radiomitigator in pre-clinical models, inhibits the class I and II mammalian histone deacetylase (HDAC) enzyme family preferentially. In the current study, the ADME assessment of TSA was explored in terms of its binding affinity for serum protein spectroscopic and molecular docking techniques. Fluorescence spectroscopy was used to examine changes in the protein microenvironment, and affinity was quantified in terms of binding constant and stoichiometry.

Purpose: Radiation-induced gastrointestinal injury (RIGI) is a serious side effect of abdominal and pelvic radiotherapy, which often limits the treatment of gastrointestinal and gynaecological cancers. RIGI is also observed during accidental radiological or nuclear scenarios with no approved agents available till date to prevent or mitigate RIGI in humans. Trichostatin A (TSA), an epigenetic modulator, has been currently in clinical trials for cancer treatment and is also well known for its antibiotic and antifungal properties.

Purpose: Peripheral blood serum/plasma proteins are frequently studied for their potential use as radiation exposure biomarkers. Here we report RBC membrane associated proteins (RMAPs), which show alterations in expression level following whole-body γ-irradiation of rats at sub-lethal/lethal doses.
Materials And Methods: RBCs from peripheral blood of Sprague Dawley rats were segregated using the Ficoll-Hypaque method, and membrane fractions were hypotonically isolated at various time points (6 h, 24 h, 48 h) after γ-irradiation at 2 Gy, 5 Gy, and 7.

Snakebite envenomation is one of the major public health concerns across many countries; with the WHO designating it as a 'priority neglected tropical disease' and stressing for a need to develop novel therapeutic strategies to reduce death and disability rate by end of 2030. Since a major component of venom; the high molecular weight (HMw) toxins enter the bloodstream through lymphatic system, research is focusing on modulating the lymphatic flow rate after topical application of suitable drug candidates. Present study compared the suitability of three radiopharmaceutical agents, namely Tc-Sulfur colloid (SC), Tc-Phytate (Phy) and Tc-Human serum albumin (HSA), to be used as mock-venom agent in studying modulation in lymphatic flow rate in preclinical models of peripheral snakebite envenomation using lymphoscintigraphy studies.

Diversely substituted methoxy derivatives of arylpiperazinyl-alkyl benzothiazolone has been evaluated as specific probe for 5HT. To determine the best methoxy derivative for 5HT receptor affinity, we synthesised a number of 2-benzothiazolone arylalkyl piperazine derivatives. In-vitro/vivo studies with C-2 substituted [C]ABT showed 5HT specific binding.

Pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) like bacterial cell wall components and viral nucleic acids are known ligands of innate inflammatory receptors that trigger multiple inflammatory pathways that may result in acute inflammation and oxidative stress-driven tissue and organ toxicity. When dysregulated, this inflammation may lead to acute toxicity and multiorgan failure. Inflammatory events are often driven by high energy demands and macromolecular biosynthesis.

The similarities between thallium and potassium have suggested the use of calcium polystyrene sulfonate (CPS), an oral ion exchange resin, as a potential agent against thallium intoxication. Therefore, the study was an attempt to evaluate the efficacy of CPS and Prussian blue when given alone or in combination against thallium toxicity. The effect on binding capacity was investigated in terms of contact time, amount of CPS, influence of pH, simulated physiological solutions and interference of potassium ions.

Glioma refers to the most atypical variant of the malignant central nervous system tumors posturing massive challenge to the research fraternity owing to the flimsy improvement in the patient survival rate over the past years. The aim of the proposed work was developing a diagnostic aid for brain tumors, which could be administered via the non-invasive intranasal route. Since overexpression of folate receptors in the central nervous system tumors is 500 times more than the normal healthy cells, we aimed at fabricating a radiolabeled folate encapsulated micellar delivery system to be given via the nasal route.
