Portal vein thrombosis, a relatively frequent complication associated with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and liver cirrhosis, is recognized as a significant global health concern. This is mainly due to these conditions' high prevalence and potentially severe outcomes. The aim of our study was to conduct a comprehensive literature review to evaluate the efficacy, accuracy, and clinical implications of 18F-FDG PET-CT in diagnosing and managing portal vein tumor thrombosis (PVTT) in patients with HCC.

Purpose: This study analyzes the influence of various factors on the hypotensive effect of selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) in patients with primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG).
Material And Methods: A retrospective study of the SLT effect was performed in 582 patients (756 eyes; mean age - 71.9±9.
Purpose: This article studies the relationship between structural changes according to the findings of optical coherence tomography (OCT) and OCT angiography (OCTA), microperimetry (MP), multifocal electroretinography (mfERG) parameters in topographically corresponding areas of the macular region in idiopathic full-thickness macular holes (FTMH).
Material And Methods: OCT, OCTA, MP and mfERG were performed in 14 eyes with FTMH stages I-IV according to Gass. In 13 points at a distance of 0-2.

We studied the effects of polyphenolic composition BP-C2, comprising molybdenum with lignin derivatives, on lung carcinogenesis induced by urethane in the progeny of F male BALB/c mice preconceptionally exposed to radiation in a dose of 1 Gy. The multiplicity of lung tumors in the progeny of irradiated mice was higher than in the progeny of non-irradiated male parents by 50% in females and 43% in males (p<0.05).

Renal clearance in Wistar rats with multifactorial cardiovasorenal model of arterial hypertension was assessed by fMRI using (EPI_Diffusion_map) protocol after injection of extracellular contrast agent gadolinium Gd-DTPA. Linear regression analysis was used to assess local concentrations of the contrast agent in the abdominal aorta, kidney compartments, pelvis, and bladder areas. Detection of marker clearance in order to verify the glomerular filtration rate was performed by the RPP (Rutland-Patlak plot) method.

Drug-resistance epilepsy (DRE) is a key problem in neurology. It is possible that damage to the blood-brain barrier (BBB) may affect resistance in DRE. The aim of this work was to assess the damage and dysfunction in the BBB in the area of epileptic foci in patients with DRE under conditions of neuroinflammation.

The functional characteristics of the thoracic aorta in Wistar rat with experimental arterial hypertension were studied using MRI. The intravital images of the aorta were obtained using a synchronizer of cardiac and respiratory cycles. The pulse-gradient Turbo-spin-echo sequence and the BODY CARDIAC movie 10 mode were used.

Hence, studies of SARS-COV-2 related morphological changes in neocortex are particularly relevant for understanding the mechanisms of their formation and development of approaches to preclinical evaluation of the effectiveness of antiviral drugs. The purpose of the research is a longitudinal study of the ultrastructural alterations in Syrian hamsters neocortex after experimental SARS-CoV-2 infection.

We studied the content of aquaporin-5 (AQP) and epithelial sodium channel (ENaC) in rat lungs during the development of toxic pulmonary edema (TPE) caused by intoxication with phosgene and perfluoroisobutylene (1.5 LC). The lung body weight index (LBI) was calculated and histological examination of the lung tissues was performed.

Major burns (severe burn injury or burn disease) are one of the most life-threatening injuries. There is a great need to identify and monitor the development of complications (sepsis and septic shock, coagulopathy and DIC) in burned patients.

The last decade has been marked by an exponential increase in the number of publications on the physiological role of the normal human gut microbiota. The idea of a symbiotic relationship between the human organism and normal microbiota of its gastrointestinal tract has been firmly established as an integral part of the current biomedical paradigm. However, the type of this symbiosis varies from mutualism to parasitism and depends on the functional state of the host organism.

To a large extent, biosafety problems are also relevant for all clinical laboratories working with biosubstrates, with the potential threat of containing pathogens of bloodborne infections in them. On December 30, 2020, the President of the Russian Federation signed Federal Law № 492 «On the Biological Safety of the Russian Federation» (№ 492-FZ), which regulates the basic legal norms and regulation of biosafety issues, as well as a list of measures to prevent the risks of the spread of infections due to accidents, bioterrorist acts and sabotage.

Introduction: Verification of histological changes in respiratory system using Syrian (golden) hamsters (Mesocricetus auratus) as experimental model is an important task for preclinical studies of drugs intended for prevention and treatment of the novel coronavirus infection COVID-19.The aim of this work was to study pathological changes of pulmonary tissue in SARS-CoV-2 (Coronaviridae: Coronavirinae: Betacoronavirus; Sarbecovirus) experimental infection in Syrian hamsters.
Material And Methods: Male Syrian hamsters weighting 80-100 g were infected by intranasal administration of culture SARS-CoV-2 at dose 4 × 104 TCID50/ml (TCID is tissue culture infectious dose).

Unlabelled: Purpose - to investigate functional and morphological effects of peptide bioregulator (Retinalamin) in modeling of photochemical damage to rabbit retina.
Material And Methods: The study was conducted on 36 rabbits (72 eyes) randomized into 4 equal groups: two experimental groups received parabulbar injections of Retinalamin («Geropharm», Russia) in each eye in dosages of 0.25 mg/kg in a course of 10 days starting from day 1 and day 10 of the experiment, respectively, and two control groups that received injections of normal solution with the same regimen.

We developed a model of retinal degeneration in rabbits based on exposure to light with a wavelength of 405 nm. This model allows reproducing structural and functional disorders in the central parts of the retina, including primarily degeneration of the outer layers of the retina (retinal pigment epithelium and layer of photoreceptor cells), and is designed to study the mechanisms of formation, progression and effectiveness of new drugs and methods of treatment of degenerative diseases of the retina.

Study Question: Is the growth pattern of children conceived by ART different compared to naturally conceived children.
Summary Answer: Both ART and underlying parental subfertility may contribute to differences in early childhood growth between children conceived with and without the use of ART.
What Is Known Already: Children conceived by ART weigh less and are shorter at the time of delivery.

The features of a gunshot injury arising in the presence of body armor on the injured person are considered. The purpose of the work is to reveal the mechanisms of damage formation during non-penetration of an armored composition, during its penetration, as well as during external or internal rebound. The characteristic of damages arising with this is given.

Purpose: To evaluate the possibility of using the system "Neuro-ERG" (with a module for multifocal ERG) in the study of focal and diffuse pathology in laboratory animals (rabbits).
Material And Methods: Focal retinal damage was modelled in 5 eyes of 5 rabbits by singular laser pulses (532 nm, 100 ms, power 30, 60, 100, 150 and 200 mW) and diffuse retinal damage was modelled in 5 eyes of 5 rabbits by exposure to polychromatic light for 14 days (9500 lm, 6400 K, 230 mW/cm2, 8 h/day). The pair of eyes and areas of intact retina in the eyes with focal retinal damage were used for control.
