The heterogeneity of the T cell receptor (TCR) repertoire critically influences the autoimmune response in obstetric antiphospholipid syndrome (OAPS) and is intimately associated with the prophylaxis of autoimmune disorders. Investigating the TCR diversity patterns in patients with OAPS is thus of paramount clinical importance. This investigation procured peripheral blood specimens from 31 individuals with OAPS, 21 patients diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and 22 healthy controls (HC), proceeding with TCR repertoire sequencing.

The vestibular system not only supports reflex function at the brainstem level, but is also associated with higher levels of cognitive function. Vertigo due to vestibular disorders may lead to or be associated with cognitive dysfunction. Patients with deficits of both vestibular as well as cognitive function may be at particularly high risk for events like falls or certain diseases, such as Alzheimer's.

Citicoline can be used to reduce acute ischemic stroke injury via venous infusion, however, its protective effects in the brain extracellular space remain largely unknown. Herein, we investigated the brain protective effects of citicoline administered via the brain extracellular space and sought precise effective dosage range that can protect against ischemic injury after experimental ischemic stroke in rats. : Fifty-six Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into control, intraperitoneal (IP), caudate-putamen (CPu)-25, CPu-40, CPu-50, CPu-60 and CPu-75 groups based on the infusion site and concentration of citicoline.

Mitochondria play a crucial role in maintaining cellular energy supply and serve as a source of energy for repairing nerve damage following a stroke. Given that exercise has the potential to enhance energy metabolism, investigating the impact of exercise on mitochondrial function provides a plausible mechanism for stroke treatment. In our study, we established the middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) model in Sprague-Dawley rats and implemented early exercise intervention.

Trichloroethylene (TCE) is a commonly used organic solvent in industry. Our previous studies have found that TCE can cause liver injury accompanied by macrophage polarization, but the specific mechanism is unclear. The epigenetic regulation of macrophage polarization is mainly focused on histone modification.

Background: Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive gastric cancer (GC) is a heterogeneous GC subtype characterized by the overexpression of HER2. To date, few specific targeted therapies have demonstrated durable efficacy in HER2-positive GC patients, with resistance to trastuzumab typically emerging within 1 year. However, the mechanisms of resistance to trastuzumab remain incompletely understood, presenting a significant challenge to clinical practice.

The rapid global distribution of COVID-19 vaccines, with over a billion doses administered, has been unprecedented. However, in comparison to most identified clinical determinants, the implications of individual genetic factors on antibody responses post-COVID-19 vaccination for breakthrough outcomes remain elusive. Here, we conducted a population-based study including 357,806 vaccinated participants with high-resolution HLA genotyping data, and a subset of 175,000 with antibody serology test results.

Objective: Recent neuroscientific models suggest that functional bodily symptoms can be attributed to perceptual dysregulation in the central nervous system. Evidence for this hypothesis comes from patients with functional dizziness, who exhibit marked sensorimotor processing deficits during eye-head movement planning and execution. Similar findings in eye-head movement planning in patients with irritable bowel syndrome confirmed that these sensorimotor processing deficits represent a shared, transdiagnostic mechanism.

The rapid growth in computational power, sensor technology, and wearable devices has provided a solid foundation for all aspects of cardiac arrhythmia care. Artificial intelligence (AI) has been instrumental in bringing about significant changes in the prevention, risk assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of arrhythmia. This review examines the current state of AI in the diagnosis and treatment of atrial fibrillation, supraventricular arrhythmia, ventricular arrhythmia, hereditary channelopathies, and cardiac pacing.

Purpose: To propose a straightforward and time-efficient quality assurance (QA) approach of beam time delay for respiratory-gated radiotherapy and validate the proposed method on typical respiratory gating systems, Catalyst™ and AlignRT™.
Methods: The QA apparatus was composed of a motion platform and a Winston-Lutz cube phantom (WL3) embedded with metal balls. The apparatus was first scanned in CT-Sim and two types of QA plans specific for beam on and beam off time delay, respectively, were designed.

Macrophages play multiple roles in innate immunity including phagocytosing pathogens, modulating the inflammatory response, presenting antigens, and recruiting other immune cells. Tissue-resident macrophages (TRMs) adapt to the local microenvironment and can exhibit different immune responses upon encountering distinct pathogens. In this study, we generated induced macrophages (iMACs) derived from human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) to investigate the interactions between the macrophages and various human pathogens, including the hepatitis C virus (HCV), severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), and .

Deep neural networks (DNNs) have been widely applied in medical image classification and achieve remarkable classification performance. These achievements heavily depend on large-scale accurately annotated training data. However, label noise is inevitably introduced in the medical image annotation, as the labeling process heavily relies on the expertise and experience of annotators.

The increasing frequency of heat waves under the global urbanization and climate change background poses elevating risks of chronic kidney disease (CKD). Nevertheless, there has been no evidence on associations between long-term exposures to heat waves and CKD as well as the modifying effects of land cover patterns. Based on a national representative population-based survey on CKD covering 47,086 adults and high spatial resolution datasets on temperature and land cover data, we found that annual days of exposure to heat waves were associated with increased odds of CKD prevalence.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a non-invasive medical imaging technique that provides high-resolution 3D images and valuable insights into human tissue conditions. Even at present, the refinement of denoising methods for MRI remains a crucial concern for improving the quality of the images. This study aims to improve the prefiltered rotationally invariant non-local principal component analysis (PRI-NL-PCA) algorithm.
