Background: Multidrug resistance organisms (MDROs) pose a major threat in intensive care units (ICUs). Although in vitro studies suggested that Tanreqing (TRQ) was effective against MDROs, evidence about TRQ injection usage and its real-world effectiveness is lacking.
Purpose: This study aimed to investigate treatment pattern and real-world effectiveness of TRQ against MDRO infections among ICU patients being treated with antibiotics.

Introduction: Sarcopenia is a disease primarily characterized by age-related loss of skeletal muscle mass, muscle strength, and/or decline in physical performance. Sarcopenia has an insidious onset which can cause functional impairment in the body and increase the risk of falls and disability in the elderly. It significantly increases the likelihood of fractures and mortality, severely impairing the quality of life and health of the elderly people.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) is a relatively common fungal infectious disease in the female reproductive tract. The pathogenesis of VVC not only involves Candida albicans (C. albicans) infection, but also the improper immune response of the vaginal mucosal immune system to the fungus.

Acute injury and secondary injury caused by traumatic brain injury (TBI) seriously threaten the health of patients. The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of β-Asarone in TBI-induced neuroinflammation and injury. In this work, the effects of β-Asarone on nerve injury and neuronal apoptosis were investigated in mice with TBI by controlled cortical impingement.

Deptor knockout mice were constructed by crossing Deptor Floxp3 mice with myh6 Cre mice, establishing a myocardial ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) model. Deptor knockout mice exhibited significantly increased myocardial infarction size and increased myocardial apoptosis in vivo. ELISA analysis indicated that the expression of CK-MB, LDH, and CtnT/I was significantly higher in the Deptor knockout mice.

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is a distinct type of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma prevalent in Southern China, Southeast Asia, and North Africa. Despite advances in treatment options, the prognosis for advanced NPC remains poor, underscoring the urgent need to explore its underlying mechanisms and develop novel therapeutic strategies. Epigenetic alterations have been shown to play a key role in NPC progression.

Kaempferol-3--rutinoside (KR) has an excellent cardioprotective effect, but its mechanism of action is not clear. Network pharmacology was used to predict the signaling pathways, whereas molecular docking was used for preliminary validation of KR binding to targets. AMI model rats with ligated left anterior descending coronary arteries were established.

Purpose: Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) features a complex pathophysiology and unpredictable immunosuppressive microenvironment, which limit the effectiveness of traditional therapies and lead to poor patient outcomes. Understanding the immune characteristics of HCC is essential for elucidating the immune microenvironment and developing more effective treatments. This study investigates the role of Peptidyl-prolyl isomerase H (PPIH) in HCC by analyzing its expression, prognosis, methylation levels, and relationship with immune cell infiltration.

Psoriasis is a chronic, relapsing, inflammatory skin disease that is caused by the immune system. Amygdalin possesses immune-modulating and anti-inflammatory effects. To explore the possible effects of amygdalin on psoriasis and its pathogenesis of action, we examined the effects of amygdalin on imiquimod-induced psoriasis, tape-stripping-induced skin barrier disruption, and investigated the potential mechanism of action in vitro.

Research Question: What are the long-term effects of different models of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and which model could be used in future research?
Design: PCOS models induced by letrozole, letrozole plus high-fat diet (LE+HFD), testosterone propionate (TP) or testosterone propionate plus HFD (TP+HFD) were established in rats. Body weight, energy intake, blood glucose, sex hormone concentrations, lipid profiles and the oestrus cycle were observed. Histology of ovaries, large intestine and fat was displayed.

Dysmenorrhea is a common gynecological condition that is further divided into two categories, namely primary and secondary dysmenorrhea. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) gives good clinical results for the treatment of dysmenorrhea based on the basic principles of holistic view and syndrome differentiation. However, presently, the clinical practice guidelines in TCM for dysmenorrhea treatment are required.

Background: Osteosarcoma is the most prevalent among primary bone malignancies, and its standard intervention involves neoadjuvant chemotherapy - surgical adjuvant chemotherapy (MAP regimen) with adriamycin, cisplatin, and high-dose methotrexate. Early-stage osteosarcoma can be effectively treated with surgical resection along with chemotherapy or radiotherapy. However, as the cancer progresses, the efficacy of chemo- and radiotherapy decreases, and the associated problems increase.

Background: Sepsis-associated acute kidney injury (SA-AKI) is common and associated with poor outcomes in critically ill patients. Acetaminophen is often used as an antipyretic and analgesic drug, but the association of acetaminophen use with mortality and recovery of renal function in SA-AKI patients remain unclear. We aimed to investigate the association between acetaminophen use and outcomes in SA-AKI patients.
