Background: Systolic blood pressure (BP) is a key factor in the outcomes of patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) receiving endovascular thrombectomy (EVT). However, the factors that mediate the association between BP and clinical outcome are unclear.
Methods: Consecutive patients with AIS in the anterior circulation underwent continuous blood pressure monitoring for 24 hours.

Background: Accurate detection of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) gene amplification via fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) is necessary to determine HER2 status. Although many attempts have been made to increase the consistency of the results, the actual situation still needs to be determined. To investigate the latest interlaboratory variability of HER2 FISH testing for breast cancer, a multicenter proficiency-testing ring study was conducted in China.

Background: Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) has evolved from a novel technology to an established therapy for high-risk patients with symptomatic severe aortic valve stenosis (AS). Recently, its use has also been extended to low-risk patients, resulting in its increasing utilization in patients with bicuspid aortic valve (BAV). But as a serious post-TAVR complication, ischemic stroke was associated with a nearly 6-fold increased 30-day mortality.

Aims: To investigate glycaemic control in Chinese adults with type 2 diabetes (T2D) initiating, or switching to insulin degludec/insulin aspart (IDegAsp), a co-formulation of basal, and bolus insulin, in a real-world setting.
Materials And Methods: A 20-week, prospective, single-arm, open-label, non-interventional study was conducted in Chinese adults with T2D initiating, or switching to IDegAsp after anti-hyperglycaemic treatment with oral antidiabetic drugs (OADs), other insulins, or glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists. The primary endpoint was a change in HbA from baseline to end of the study; the secondary endpoints included a change in fasting plasma glucose and Diabetes Treatment Satisfaction Questionnaire (DTSQ) score.

Background: Not all malignant tumors, especially in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients with cirrhosis, can be detected by preoperative imaging methods. Therefore, it is urgently necessary to improve the intraoperative detectability of HCCs. Contrast-enhanced intraoperative ultrasonography (CE-IOUS) is an effective technique for detecting and characterizing occulting HCC lesions.

Background And Objective: In patients diagnosed with bladder cancer (BC), muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) accounts for 25%, including tumors invading the intrinsic muscle layer (T2), surrounding tissues of the bladder (T3), or adjacent pelvic organs/structures (T4). Cryoablation promises to be a novel interventional oncology technique, which effectively induces cellular destruction through freezing and thawing cycles. In addition to the direct tumor-killing effect, it also has a tumor-immune effect.

Infrared thermography is an advanced technology that utilizes infrared detectors to sense the infrared thermal radiation emitted from the human body' s surface, converting it into electrical signals. These signals are then processed by computers to generate planar temperature color images, providing an intuitive display of the body surface temperature distribution. Rheumatic diseases, as prevalent conditions that significantly impact the quality of life of millions of people worldwide, pose significant challenges in diagnosis and assessment.

The DNA demethylating therapy with azacitidine (AZA) is a promising therapeutic strategy for elderly patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). AZA primarily inhibits DNA methylation, promotes cell differentiation and apoptosis in AML. However, as a cytosine nucleoside analog, AZA also has the potential to be incorporated into RNA molecules.

Calcium/calmodulin-dependent serine protein kinase (CASK) interaction protein 1/2 (Caskin1/2) is essential neuronal synaptic scaffold protein in nervous system development. Knockouts of Caskin1/2 display severe deficits in novelty recognition and spatial memory. The tandem sterile alpha motif (SAM) domains of Caskin1/2, also conserved in their Drosophila homolog Ckn, are known to form homopolymers, yet their dynamic regulation mechanism remains unclear.

Sjogren's disease (SjD) in children is a rare chronic autoimmune disease not fully recognized due to clinical manifestations different from adults. As such, new objective indicators are needed to supplement existing markers and assist in diagnosis. This review summarizes pathogenesis of SjD in children, current diagnostic criteria and research progress in laboratory diagnosis including serologic testing, saliva and tear analysis, histopathological examination as well as emerging markers of interest.

Ectopic corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH) syndrome, a rare subtype of adrenocorticotropic hormone-dependent Cushing syndrome, is associated with tumors of diverse origins. Here, we present a case of a 37-year-old female diagnosed with ectopic CRH syndrome secondary to rectal large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma, a hitherto unprecedented site for CRH-secreting tumors. The patient presented with classical features of Cushing syndrome, supported by laboratory evidence of hypercortisolemia and disrupted diurnal cortisol secretion.

Sweroside, a natural secoiridoid glycoside derived from various medicinal plants, is known for its anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, and hepatoprotective properties. However, its pharmacological significance is not fully supported by its low systemic exposure. In this study, a de novo strategy was proposed to investigate the metabolism of sweroside in rats, including drug administration, sample pretreatment, ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography/Quadrupole-Exactive mass spectrometry data acquisition, data processing, and semi-quantitative analysis.

Introduction: Frailty significantly influences the prognosis of elderly patients diagnosed with heart failure. The assessment of frailty is a critical initial step in the management of these patients, as a systematic and precise evaluation facilitates the identification of individuals at high risk. This identification enables timely and targeted interventions, which can subsequently reduce the likelihood of adverse cardiovascular events and improve the quality of life for elderly patients with heart failure.

To study the effects of metabolic enzyme activity inhibition and genetic polymorphisms on the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of rivaroxaban, we established an in vitro enzymatic reaction system to screen for inhibitors, and used the UPLC-MS/MS method to detect the levels of rivaroxaban and its metabolite M2-1. Additionally, in vivo pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic studies were conducted using Sprague-Dawley rats. Human recombinant CYP2J2 baculosomes were prepared using a baculovirus-insect expression system to investigate the impact of genetic polymorphisms on rivaroxaban metabolism through enzyme kinetics methods.
