Dihydrosamidin (DHS), a khellactone 3'--isovaleroyl-4'--acetyl ester, is naturally found in Apiaceae plants yet remains underexplored in biomedical research. Employing HPLC-PDA-MS analysis, the profiling of coumarins in revealed its significant presence, reaching DHS concentrations of 95 mg/g. DHS administering at a dosage of 80 mg/kg during bilateral transient occlusion of the common carotid artery in Wistar rats prevented neuronal death and decreased neuron-specific enolase levels in the blood serum, increases neurotrophic factors and vascular endothelial growth factor A levels in brain lysate.

The severity of ischemic injury was evaluated by densitometry of brain samples stained with 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride (TTC) on a rat model of cerebral ischemia/reperfusion (common carotid artery occlusion) and the neuroprotective activity of an extract of Astragalus membranaceus, Scutellaria baicalensis, and Phlojodicarpus sibiricus was assessed. Occlusion of the common carotid arteries led to a weakening of TTC staining of the brain tissue: densitometric indicators of the staining intensity for the cortex and striatum were lower than the corresponding indicators of sham-operated rats by 18.3 and 10.

Species-specific anatomical and morphological characteristics of Pinus sylvestris and Larix sibirica needles were studied at different levels of tree stand pollution by aluminum smelter emissions. The anatomical characteristics of the needle were studied using light microscopy. The phenomenon of exocrine secretion via nervous cells into the host tissue has been discovered in cestodes. In five cestode species of different orders specialized "cup-shaped" free nerve endings located in the tegument have been found. Their ultrastructure is characterized by the presence of a septate junction, a thin support ring and neurosecretory vesicles 90-110 nm in diameter, which are secreted onto the surface of the tegument through a thin pore.

The Buryatian horse is an ancient breed and, as an indigenous breed, they have unique adaptive abilities to use scarce pastures, graze in winter, and survive in harsh conditions with minimal human care. In this study, fecal microbiota of Buryatian horses grazing in the warm and cold seasons were investigated using NGS technology on the Illumina MiSeq platform. We hypothesized that the composition of microbial communities in the feces of horses maintained on pasture would change in the different seasons, depending on the grass availability and different plant diets.

The phylum Cnidaria consists of several morphologically diverse classes including Anthozoa, Cubozoa, Hydrozoa, Polypodiozoa, Scyphozoa, Staurozoa, and Myxozoa. Myxozoa comprises two subclasses of obligate parasites-Myxosporea and Malacosporea, which demonstrate various degrees of simplification. Myxosporea were previously reported to lack the majority of core protein domains of apoptotic proteins including caspases, Bcl-2, and APAF-1 homologs.

This paper presents the results of the study of the composition of the essential oil (EO) of by the GC/MS method as well as its antimicrobial and antiradical activities. According to the PCA-analysis, these EOs can be conditionally divided into "Tajik" and "Buryat-Mongol" chemotypes. The first chemotype is characterized by the prevalence of - and -thujone, and the second chemotype by the prevalence of 4-phenyl-2-butanone, camphor.
