Objectives: Mucosal healing (MH) is a key therapeutic target in Crohn's disease (CD) and is associated with improved outcomes. While adult studies indicate a positive correlation between serum anti-tumor necrosis factor (TNF) levels and MH, data in pediatric patients is limited. We aimed to define the association of serum anti-TNF levels with MH in pediatric patients with CD during maintenance therapy.

Risk factors for pancreatic cancer in individuals with intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms and no high-risk stigmata during up to 5 years of surveillance: a prospective longitudinal cohort study.

Background: Cyst size, its growth rate, and diameter of the main pancreatic duct (MPD) are all associated with pancreatic carcinoma prevalence in intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMNs).

Objective: To examine the above factors in relation to future risk of incident pancreatic carcinoma in individuals with IPMNs harbouring no high-risk stigmata.

Design: In a prospective longitudinal cohort, we analysed 2549 patients with IPMNs.

Background And Aims: Guidelines recommend endoscopic detorsion in cases of sigmoid volvulus without ischemia or perforation, but the timing in which this should be performed is unclear.

Methods: Admissions for sigmoid volvulus in which endoscopic detorsion was performed between 1/2010-4/2024 were retrospectively reviewed. The timing was calculated as the time between when the confirmatory radiologic exam and endoscopic detorsion were performed.

Prognostic performance of the two-step clinical care pathway in metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.

Background & Aims: Current guidelines recommend a 2-step approach for risk stratification in patients with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) with Fibrosis-4 index (FIB-4) followed by liver stiffness measurement (LSM) by vibration-controlled transient elastography (VCTE) or similar second-line tests. This study aimed to examine to prognostic performance of this approach.

Methods: The VCTE-Prognosis Study was a longitudinal study of patients with MASLD who had undergone VCTE examinations at 16 centres from the US, Europe and Asia with subsequent follow-up for clinical events.

Anti-Inflammatory and Anti-Fibrotic Effects of a Mixture of Polyphenols Extracted from "Navelina" Orange in Human Hepa-RG and LX-2 Cells Mediated by Cannabinoid Receptor 2.

Navelina oranges () are rich in phytonutrients and bioactive compounds, especially flavonoids like hesperidin. This study investigates the anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic properties of hesperidin (HE) and a polyphenol mixture from Navelina oranges (OE) in human hepatocytes (Hepa-RG) and hepatic stellate cells (LX-2), in order to elucidate the underlying molecular mechanisms. In Hepa-RG cells, HE treatment increased expression of cannabinoid receptor 2 (CB2R), which was associated with down-regulation of p38 mitogen-activated protein kinases (p38 MAPK) but had minimal impact on cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) levels.

The objective of this study is to characterize the ultrasound features of -induced gastritis and assess its predictive potential role for this condition. A cohort of 119 patients underwent gastroscopy with biopsy and abdominal US to evaluate antral wall thickness (AWT), submucosal wall thickness (SLT), mucosal wall thickness (MLT), gastric motility, and the presence of ingested material.

The purpose of this study was to highlight the impact of the pandemic lockdown on the presentation, diagnosis, and surgical management of colorectal cancers as well as the post-pandemic changes in this area. : This single center, retrospective comparative study contained 1687 patients, divided into three groups with equal time frames of two years, consisting of a pre-pandemic, pandemic, and post-pandemic period, in which preoperative and perioperative as well as postoperative parameters were compared.

Background: In recent years, the emphasis has shifted to understanding the role of N1-methyladenosine (m1A) in tumor progression as little is known about its regulatory effect on mRNA and its role in the metastasis of colorectal cancer (CRC).

Methods: We performed methylated RNA immunoprecipitation sequencing of tumor tissues and tumor-adjacent normal tissues from three patients with CRC to determine the m1A profile of mRNA in CRC. The expression of diaphanous-related formin 3 (DIAPH3) and its correlation with clinicopathological characteristics of CRC were evaluated using immunohistochemistry and online datasets.
