Dental mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are characterized by unlimited self-renewal ability and high multidirectional differentiation potential. Since dental MSCs can be easily isolated and exhibit a high capability to differentiate into odontogenic cells, they are considered as attractive therapeutic agents in regenerative dentistry. Recently, MSC-derived extracellular vesicles (MSC-EVs) have attracted widespread attention as carriers for cell-free therapy due to their potential functions.

Introduction: Clinically, there is a kind of patients with positional vertigo or dizziness, which occurs when they turn left or right, look down or up, lie down or sit up. With a long duration and varying frequency, it is not consistent with the manifestations of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). In addition, the persistent geotropic direction-changing positional nystagmus (PG-DCPN) was observed in a supine head-roll test.

Multifunctional magnetic nanoagents (MMNs) have drawn increasing attention in cancer precision therapy, attributed to their good biocompatibility and the potential applications for multimodal imaging and multidisciplinary therapy. The noble metal or isotopes contained in MMNs could not only perform superparamagnetism, providing an outstanding magnetic targeting property for drug delivery, but also endow the MMNs with a magnetocaloric effect, photothermal performance, and radiotherapy sensitization, arriving at a multimode combination therapy for cancer. Also, the composite component can endow MMNs with various imaging performance, such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), positron emission tomography (PET), and single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), thereby achieving accurate image-guided therapy for cancer.

Background: Emerging evidence has indicated the critical role of TRPV4 in diverse human cancers. However, the underlying molecular mechanism of TRPV4 in colon cancer invasiveness is still unknown.
Methods: Immunohistochemistry staining was used to analyze the expression of TRPV4 and ZEB1 in clinical tissues; Wound healing and transwell assays were applied to determine the cell invasiveness; Western blot was used to explore the relation between TRPV4 and ZEB1.

The incidence rate of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is the highest among the malignant tumors of otorhinolaryngology, posing a huge burden to public health. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) exert an important role in tumorigenesis and the progression of various cancers. The present study found that HOXC-AS1 was highly expressed in NPC and in NPC cell lines, suggesting a critical role of HOXC-AS1 in NPC progression.

Qing Jin Hua Tan Tang (QJHTT) exerts therapeutic effects in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) by alleviating inflammation. However, the anti-inflammatory components of QJHTT have not yet been reported. Our study aimed to screen the active anti-inflammatory components of QJHTT using a multivariate statistical analysis approach for spectrum-effect relationships.

Objective: To explore the regulation of microRNA-29a (miR-29a) on FOS in human nasal epithelial cells and its molecular mechanism, as well as the effects of miR-29a on the cell proliferation and apoptosis.
Methods: By cell transfection, gene silencing, quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR), flow cytometry and TUNEL assay (for cell apoptosis), CCK-8 assay (for cell proliferation), dual-luciferase reporter gene assay and Western Blot, it was validated that miR-29a promoted the proliferation of human nasal epithelial cells and inhibited their apoptosis by down-regulating FOS expression in RPMI2650 and HNEpC cell lines.
Results: ①Compared with healthy controls, miR-29a expression was up-regulated and FOS mRNA expression was down-regulated in the nasal tissues from the patients with allergic rhinitis (AR).

Despite extensive use of radiotherapy in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) treatment because of its high radiosensitivity, there have been huge challenges in further improving therapeutic effect, meanwhile obviously reducing radiation damage. To this end, synergistic chemoradiotherapy has emerged as a potential strategy for highly effective NPC therapy. Here, we developed RGD-targeted platinum-based nanoparticles (RGD-PtNPs, denoted as RPNs) to achieve targeted chemoradiotherapy for NPC.

Background: Bone morphogenetic protein 5 (BMP5) has been identified as one of the important risk factors for microtia; however, the link between them has yet to be clarified. In this study, we aimed to demonstrate the relationship of BMP5 with mitochondrial function and investigate the specific role of mitochondria in regulating microtia development.
Methods: BMP5 expression was measured in auricular cartilage tissues from patients with and without microtia.

Polymorphonuclear neutrophils (PMN) are one fraction of the major inflammatory cells in allergic asthma (asthma, in short); the role of PMN in the asthma pathogenesis is not fully understood yet. This study aims to investigate the effects of specific Ag-guiding exosomes on suppressing the neutrophil-dominant airway inflammation. In this study, BALB/c mice were immunized with ovalbumin plus complete Freund adjuvant to induce an asthma model featured with neutrophil-dominant lung inflammation.

Regenerative dentistry is an emerging field of medicine involving stem cell technology, tissue engineering and dental science. It exploits biological mechanisms to regenerate damaged oral tissues and restore their functions. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a biological product that is defined as the portion of plasma fraction of autologous blood with a platelet concentration above that of the original whole blood.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common malignancies in adults. Similar to other solid tumors, CRC cells show increased proliferation and suppressed apoptosis during the development and progression of the disease. Previous studies have shown that a novel tumor oncogene, spermatogenic basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor zip 1 (SPZ1), can promote proliferation.

Transient receptor potential vanilloid type 4 (TRPV4) is a Ca-permeable cation channel that is known to be an osmosensor and thermosensor. Currently, limited evidence shows that TRPV4 plays opposite roles in either promoting or inhibiting cancer development in different cancer types. Furthermore, the precise biological functions and the underlying mechanisms of TRPV4 in carcinogenesis are still poorly understood.

This study attempts to provide clinical evidence on the origin of SSR-40Hz auditory evoked potential studying posttrauma coma patients. The SSR-40Hz present two types of morphology: an acute narrow wave, defined as "sharp", and a slow wide curve defined as "rounded". In constant recording of auditory brainstem responses (ABR) the "sharp" wave correlated with the absence of middle latency responses (MLR), and the "rounded" with their presence.
