Background: There is a lack of evidence on effective treatments for depression in people with T2DM, particularly in Low and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs). This study aims to test the feasibility and acceptability of a culturally adapted Behavioural Activation (BA) intervention (DiaDeM) for people with depression and T2DM in two South Asian LMICs.
Methods: A multicountry, individually randomised-controlled feasibility trial was conducted from March 2022 to November 2022.

Background: Type I diabetes mellitus (T1DM) is one of the most common chronic autoimmune diseases worldwide. miRNAs are a class of small non-coding RNA molecules that have been linked to immune system functions, β-cell metabolism, proliferation, and death, all of which contribute to pathogenesis of TIDM. Dysregulated miRNAs have been identified in Egyptian TIDM patients.

Introduction: Thyroid dyshormonogenesis (TDH) is a subgroup of congenital hypothyroidism with recessive inheritance resulting from disease-causing variants in thyroid hormone biosynthesis pathway genes, like DUOX2, TG, TPO, SLC5A5, SLC26A4, IYD, DUOXA2, and SLC26A7. Thyroid peroxidase (TPO) is a crucial enzyme involved in thyroid hormone biosynthesis and is one of the frequently mutated genes in patients with TDH. The purpose of the study was to describe the in silico and functional characterization of novel variants in TPO gene identified in patients with TDH.

Prevalence of diabetes in Arab region has significantly increased, resulting in a significant economic burden on healthcare systems. This surge can be attributed to obesity, rapid urbanization, changing dietary habits, and sedentary lifestyles. The Arab Diabetes Forum (ADF) has established localized recommendations to tackle the region's rising diabetes prevalence.

Some animal studies and clinical trials reported that tadalafil and pentoxifylline have a reducing effect on different blood glucose parameters and lipid profiles which contribute to progress the patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) to DKD.
Methods: From February 2022 to March 2023, 90 patients with type 2 DM and DKD (micro-albuminuria) were enrolled in this randomized-controlled study.

Background: The wound-healing process in diabetic foot is affected by pro and anti-inflammatory markers, and any disruption in the inflammatory reaction interferes with tissue homeostasis, leading to chronic non-wound healing.
Aim: This study aimed to determine the diagnostic value and effect of CRP, IL-6, TNF, and HbA1c on initiation the and progression of diabetic foot ulcers.
Method: ELISA was used to quantify IL-6, TNF, CRP, and HbA1c in 205 patients with diabetes, and 105 were diabetic foot free.

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic condition that poses a mammoth challenge for the healthcare system in developing as well as developed nations. Diabetes mellitus is associated with damage to the vasculature which leads to microvascular and macrovascular complications. Oxidative stress is a consequence of glucotoxicity and lipotoxicity, which are associated with diabetes.

Obesity is a chronic, recurring, progressive disease and a major public health problem associated with several other diseases that lead to disability, morbidity, and mortality. The prevalence of obesity has increased at pandemic levels, along with increasing weight-related comorbidities and deaths worldwide. Lifestyle interventions alone provide clinically significant long-term weight loss in only a small proportion of individuals, and bariatric surgery is not suitable or desirable for all patients.

In recent years, the global prevalence of obesity and its associated metabolic disorders has reached alarming levels, presenting a significant challenge to public health worldwide. Visfatin, also known as pre-B cell colony-enhancing factor (PBEF) or nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase (NAMPT), is an adipokine that has been implicated in various physiological processes, including glucose homeostasis, lipid metabolism, and inflammation. The main objective of this proposed study is to find out the association between visfatin genetic variants and metabolic syndrome.

Background: Leptin (LEP) is an anti-obesity hormone that regulates food intake, energy expenditure, and glucose metabolism. The genetic variants in LEP and the LEP receptor (LEPR) gene may play an important role in the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and obesity. The current study aimed to investigate the association of serum LEP levels, and LEP polymorphisms in LEP (rs7799039, 2548 G/A) with T2DM in Egyptian patients.

Proving clinical superiority of personalized care models in interventional and surgical pain management is challenging. The apparent difficulties may arise from the inability to standardize complex surgical procedures that often involve multiple steps. Ensuring the surgery is performed the same way every time is nearly impossible.
