Purpose: To systematically review the literature to determine potential risk factors for failure of hip arthroscopy (HA) in patients with borderline hip dysplasia (BHD).
Methods: A systematic review was conducted according to Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines by searching PubMed, the Cochrane Library, and Embase to identify English-language clinical studies reporting on patients with BHD undergoing HA from 2003 to 2023. The search terms used were (borderline OR mild) AND hip AND (arthroscopy OR dysplasia) AND failure.

Background: Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) decreases the quality of life and affects the working life of sufferers. There is a scarcity of studies of how CRS affects sick leave at the population level, particularly for women.
Materials And Methods: Data from questionnaires were collected in Telemark, Norway in 2013 (N = 15,484) and again in 2018 (N = 13,966).

Background: During the COVID-19 pandemic, changes were seen in city mobility patterns around the world, including in active transportation (walking, cycling, micromobility, and public transit use), creating a unique opportunity for global public health lessons and action. We aimed to analyse a global natural experiment exploring city mobility patterns during the pandemic and how they related to the implementation of COVID-19-related policies.
Methods: We obtained data from Apple's Mobility Trends Reports on city mobility indexes for 296 cities from Jan 13, 2020 to Feb 4, 2022.

Background: Eclampsia is a serious pregnancy complication and is associated with cerebral edema and infarctions. However, the underlying pathophysiology of eclampsia remains poorly explored.
Objective: This study aimed to assess the pathophysiology of eclampsia using specialized magnetic resonance imaging to measure diffusion, perfusion, and vasospasm.

Type II topoisomerases (TOP2s) resolve torsional stress accumulated during various cellular processes and are enriched at chromatin loop anchors and topologically associated domain (TAD) boundaries, where, when trapped, can lead to genomic instability promoting the formation of oncogenic fusions. Whether TOP2s relieve topological constraints at these positions and/or participate in 3D chromosome folding remains unclear. Here, we combine 3D genomics, imaging, and GapRUN, a method for the genome-wide profiling of positive supercoiling, to assess the role of TOP2s in shaping chromosome organization in human cells.

Background: Fatigue and sleep disorders are prevalent in cancer patients. Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) commonly causes excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) and fatigue. We hypothesize that treating cancer patients with OSA using positive airway pressure (PAP) will improve EDS and fatigue.

Purpose: We aim to investigate the localization, visibility, and measurement of lung nodules in digital chest tomosynthesis (DTS).
Approach: Computed tomography (CT), maximum intensity projections (CT-MIP) (transaxial versus coronal orientation), and computer-aided detection (CAD) were used as location reference, and inter- and intra-observer agreement regarding lung nodule size was assessed. Five radiologists analyzed DTS and CT images from 24 participants with lung , focusing on lung nodule localization, visibility, and measurement on DTS.

Background: Wildfires have escalated into a global threat with profound impacts on health, society, and the environment. The increasing frequency and intensity of these disasters, influenced by climate change and urban expansion, necessitate a comprehensive understanding of their direct health consequences.
Methods: This study conducted a retrospective analysis of global wildfire disasters from January 2000 to December 2023, utilizing data from the Emergency Events Database (EM-DAT).

Objectives: To evaluate the feasibility of AI-assisted reading of prostate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in Organized Prostate cancer Testing (OPT).
Methods: Retrospective cohort study including 57 men with elevated prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels ≥3 µg/L that performed bi-parametric MRI in OPT. The results of a CE-marked deep learning (DL) algorithm for prostate MRI lesion detection were compared with assessments performed by on-site radiologists and reference radiologists.

Purpose: To evaluate health-relatedquality of life(HRQoL), depression, anxiety and sleep in caregivers (mothers and fathers) of children with Dravet Syndrome (DS).
Methods: Mothers (n = 41) and fathers (n = 39) of 42 children with DS completed the Rand 36-Item Short Form Health Survey (SF-36), the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale(HADS), and the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI). Mothers' and fathers' SF-36 scores were compared with Swedish population values for males and females using t-tests.

Objective: We investigated myosin heavy chain (MyHC) isoform expression at early postnatal stages of clinically and genetically confirmed spinal muscular atrophy type 1 (SMA1) patients, in order to study the muscle fibre differentiation compared to age-matched controls at single fibre level.
Methods: Open skeletal muscle biopsies were performed from the quadriceps muscle in four SMA1 patients and three age-matched controls. Standard techniques were used for immunohistochemistry of embryonic and foetal MyHCs.

Carbapenem-Resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (CRAB) outbreak in intensive care units (ICUs) is a significant problem for healthcare facilities. In this study, we aimed to investigate the occurrence of CRAB isolates among ICU-admitted patients during the three waves of the COVID-19 pandemic in Iran using Multiple-Locus Variable Number Tandem-Repeat Analysis (MLVA). We obtained 50 (A) baumannii isolates from tracheal aspirate and blood culture samples.

Background: Executive dysfunction and depression are common among ICU survivors, yet the mechanisms linking these two factors remain poorly understood. Self-confidence has been implicated as a key mediator in the relationship between cognitive impairments and mental health outcomes. This study aimed to explore the mediating role of self-confidence in the association between executive functioning and depression in ICU survivors.

Introduction Teledentistry has become more prevalent in the provision of oral healthcare since the COVID-19 pandemic. Virtual consultation clinics were introduced at Birmingham Dental Hospital as an adjunct to face-to-face (F2F) consultation clinics. This service evaluation compares virtual and F2F consultation clinics in oral surgery, with particular focus on 'did not attend' (DNA) rates.
