Platinum-based drugs are widely used in chemotherapy for various types of cancer and are considered crucial. Tetravalent platinum (Pt(IV)) compounds have gained significant attention and have been extensively researched among these drugs. Traditionally, Pt(IV) compounds are reduced to divalent platinum (Pt(II)) after entering cells, causing DNA lesions and exhibiting their anti-tumor effect.

Although a plethora of gene carriers have been developed for potential gene therapy, imageable stimuli-responsive gene vectors with fast access to the nucleus, high biocompatibility, and transfection efficiency are still scarce. Herein, we report the design and synthesis of four dendrite-shaped cationic liposomes, /DOPE (R: -butyl, ; -octyl, ; -dodecyl, ; palmyl, ), prepared via esterification of 4-alkoxybenzylideneimidazolinone containing aliphatic chains of different lengths (HBI-R), the green fluorescent protein (GFP) chromophore, with a di[12]aneN unit. Liposomes were fabricated the self-assembly of , assisted with 1,2-dioleoyl--glycerol-3-phosphorylethanolamine (DOPE).

The log BB parameter is the logarithm of the ratio of a compound's equilibrium concentrations in the brain tissue versus the blood plasma. This parameter is a useful descriptor in assessing the ability of a compound to permeate the blood-brain barrier. The aim of this study was to develop a Hansch-type linear regression QSAR model that correlates the parameter log BB and the retention time of drugs and other organic compounds on a reversed-phase HPLC containing an embedded amide moiety.

Accurate determination of pK(a) values is important for proper characterization of newly synthesized molecules. In this work we have used CZE for determination of pK(a) values of new compounds prepared from intermediates, 2, 3 and 4-(2-chloro-acetylamino)-phenoxyacetic acids, by substituting chloride for 2-oxo-pyrrolidine, 2-oxo-piperidine or 2-oxo-azepane. These substances are expected to have a cognition enhancing activity and free radicals scavenging effect.

The basic relationship between chemical structure and pharmacological activity of eight newly developed potential ultrashort-acting beta-adrenergic blockers was evaluated. The compounds studied are derivatives of arylcarbonyloxyaminopropanols and were prepared by four-step synthesis. All the compounds evaluated showed weak antiisoprenaline (beta-adrenergic receptor blocking) activity and antiarrhythmic (antiouabain) activity.
