This study investigated the protective effect of dulcitol on LPS-induced intestinal injury in piglets and explored the underlying molecular mechanisms. A total of 108 piglets were divided into three groups: CON, LPS, and DUL. The CON and LPS groups were fed a basal diet, the DUL group was fed a diet supplementation with 500 mg/kg dulcitol.

Background: Influenza A (H1N1) virus is a highly contagious respiratory disease that causes severe illness and death. Vaccines and antiviral drugs are limited by viral variation and drug resistance, so developing efficient integrated theranostic options appears significant in anti-influenza virus infection.
Methods: In this study, we designed and fabricated covalent organic framework (COF) based theranostic platforms (T705@DATA-COF-Pro), which was composed of an RNA polymerase inhibitor (favipiravir, T705), the carboxyl-enriched COF (DATA-COF) nano-carrier and Cy3-labeled single DNA (ssDNA) probe.

() is one of the most common serotypes in epidemiological surveys of poultry farms in recent years. It causes growth retardation, mortality, and significant economic losses. The extensive use of antibiotics has led to the emergence of multi-drug resistance (MDR) in Salmonella, which has become a significant global problem and long-term challenge.

We aimed to explore the effects of two different doses of Zn on the fecal microbiota in pigeons and the correlation between these effects and intestinal immune status. Zn doses affected pigeon growth performance, and pigeons in the T60 (60 mg/kg Zn) and T90 (90 mg/kg Zn) groups exhibited higher villus height and crypt depth in duodenum and ileum compared to the control group, respectively. Supplementation with Zn increased the expression of the , , and genes ( < 0.

Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV), porcine transmissible gastroenteritis virus (TGEV), porcine deltacoronavirus (PDCoV), and porcine rotavirus-A (PoRVA) are the four main pathogens that cause viral diarrhea in pigs, and they often occur in mixed infections, which are difficult to distinguish only according to clinical symptoms. Here, we developed a multiplex TaqMan-probe-based real-time RT-PCR method for the simultaneous detection of PEDV, TGEV, PDCoV, and PoRVA for the first time. The specific primers and probes were designed for the M protein gene of PEDV, N protein gene of TGEV, N protein gene of PDCoV, and VP7 protein gene of PoRVA, and corresponding recombinant plasmids were constructed.

Porcine Rotavirus (PoRV) is a significant pathogen affecting swine-rearing regions globally, presenting a substantial threat to the economic development of the livestock sector. At present, no specific pharmaceuticals are available for this disease, and treatment options remain exceedingly limited. This study seeks to design a multi-epitope peptide vaccine for PoRV employing bioinformatics approaches to robustly activate T-cell and B-cell immune responses.

Aims: is one of the major anaerobic pathogen causing food poisoning and animal enteritis. With the rise of antibiotic resistance and the restrictions of the use of antibiotic growth promoting agents (AGPs) in farming, enteritis and food contamination have become more common. It is time-consuming and labor-intensive to confirm the detection by standard culture methods, and it is necessary to develop on-site rapid detection tools.

Bacillus subtilis is a widespread Gram-positive facultative aerobic bacterium that is recognized as generally safe. It has shown significant application value and great development potential in the animal farming industry. As a probiotic, it is frequently used as a feed growth supplement to effectively replace antibiotics due to its favourable effects on regulating the intestinal flora, improving intestinal immunity, inhibiting harmful microorganisms, and secreting bioactive substances.

Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) is the most economically significant disease caused by porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV). Type I interferon (IFN) induces a large number of interferon-stimulated genes (ISGs) expression to inhibit PRRSV infection. To survive in the host, PRRSV has evolved multiple strategies to antagonize host innate immune response.

TAK1-binding protein 1 (TAB1) assembles with TAK1 through its C-terminal domain, leading to the self-phosphorylation and activation of TAK1, which plays an important role in the activation of NF-κB and MAPK signaling pathway. Pseudorabies virus (PRV) is the pathogen of Pseudorabies (PR), which belongs to the Alphaherpesvirus subfamily and causes serious economic losses to the global pig industry. However, the impact of swine TAB1 (sTAB1) on PRV infection has not been reported.

Introduction: The Wuzhishan ant (MY) chicken exhibits significant differences from other chicken breeds. However, the molecular genetic relationship between the MY breed and other chicken breeds has not been assessed.
Methods: Whole-genome resequencing was used to compare genetic diversity, nucleotide diversity, the fixation index, the linkage disequilibrium coefficient, and phylogenetic tree relationships between the MY breed and the Wenchang (WC), Danzhou (DZ), Bawangling (BW), and Longsheng Feng (LF) breeds.

Avian influenza virus (AIV) infection and vaccination against live attenuated infectious bronchitis virus (aIBV) are frequent in poultry worldwide. Here, we evaluated the clinical effect of H9N2 subtype AIV and QX genotype aIBV co-infection in specific-pathogen-free (SPF) white leghorn chickens and explored the potential mechanisms underlying the observed effects using by 4D-FastDIA-based proteomics. The results showed that co-infection of H9N2 AIV and QX aIBV increased mortality and suppressed the growth of SPF chickens.

HCC is the most common fatal malignancy. Although surgical resection is the primary treatment strategy, most patients are not eligible for resection due to tumor heterogeneity, underlying liver disease, or comorbidities. Therefore, this study explores the possibility of multi-molecular targeted drug delivery in treating HCC.

Compared to commercial breeds, Chinese local pig breeds have a greater ability to digest dietary fiber, which may be due to differences in intestinal microbiota. In this study, we fed Ding'an and DLY pigs high and low levels of dietary fiber, respectively, to investigate factors contributing to high dietary fiber adaption in Ding'an pigs. Twelve Ding'an pigs and DLY pigs were randomly divided into a 2 (diet) × 2 (breed) factorial experiment ( = 3).

In this study, six different animal models were fitted, and the constrained maximum likelihood method was used to assess the genetic parameters and genetic trends of early growth traits in Luzhong mutton sheep. The experimental data of this study included the newborn weight (BWT, N = 2464), weaning weight (WWT, N = 2923), weight at 6 months of age (6WT, N = 2428), average daily weight gain from birth to weaning (ADG1, N = 2424), and average daily weight gain from weaning to 6 months of age (ADG2, N = 1836) in Luzhong mutton sheep (2015~2019). The best model for the genetic parameters of the five traits in Luzhong mutton sheep was identified as Model 4 using the Akaike information criterion (AIC) and likelihood ratio test (LRT) methods, in which the estimated values of direct heritability for the BWT, WWT, 6WT, ADG1, and ADG2 were 0.

As of now, the global COVID-19 pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2, which began in 2019, has been effectively controlled. However, the symptoms of influenza A virus infection were similar to those of SARS-CoV-2 infection, but they required different treatment approaches. To make the detection more accurate and the treatment more targeted.

In dairy cows, the occurrence of subclinical ketosis (SCK) is particularly high during early lactation. Previously, we documented alterations in the abundance of adiponectin (ADPN) in anestrus cows with SCK in comparison to cows in estrus. In the present study, 60 cows were divided into two groups: control (C, n = 30) and SCK (n = 30).
