Short chain fructo-oligosaccharides (SC-FOS) are the potential prebiotics possessing diverse applications in both food and feed industries. The present study was aimed to extract inulin from chicory roots followed by its conversion into SC-FOS applying endoinulinase from Aspergillus fumigatus. Pregnancy-associated glycoproteins (PAGs) secreted from conceptus specific trophoblast cells are widely accepted biomarkers of ruminants. Limited information of PAGs in buffalo warrants further investigation for the development of sensitive homologous early pregnancy-specific diagnostic immunoassay. To test our hypothesis that antisperm antibodies (ASA) might alter sperm phenotypic attributes thus leading to sub-fertility/infertility in bulls, ASA were generated in crossbred male calves by immunizing with sperm two times. Cryopreserved spermatozoa from crossbred bulls (n = 24) with different field fertility ratings were incubated with ASA and different patterns of ASA immunolocalization were studied. The objective was to use scrotal infrared digital thermography to evaluate effects of thermal stress on semen quality of Murrah buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) breeding bulls.
