(1) Background: The effects of Zn and caffeine as promoters of fruit quality in the L. cultivar 'Panarea' were tested. (2) Methods: During the 56 days of the experiment, plants were treated weekly with 100 mL of 1 mM Zn (Zn), 1 mg L caffeine trimethyl-C (caffeine), and 1 mM Zn + 1 mg L caffeine trimethyl-C (Zn + caffeine) and compared to plants that were given tap water (control).

Halophyte species represent valuable reservoirs of natural antioxidants, and, among these, stands out as a promising edible plant. In this study, young and old leaves were compared for the content of bioactive compounds and antioxidant activity to assess changes in different growth phases; then, the potential protective effects against low-dose CCl-induced toxicant-associated fatty liver disease (TAFLD) were investigated by administering an aqueous suspension of young leaves to rats daily for two weeks. Quantification of total and individual phenolic compounds and in vitro antioxidant activity assays (DPPH, FRAP, and ORAC) showed the highest values in young leaves compared to mature ones.

Owing to the unique physicochemical properties and the low manufacturing costs, silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have gained growing interest and their application has expanded considerably in industrial and agricultural sectors. The large-scale production of these nanoparticles inevitably entails their direct or indirect release into the environment, raising some concerns about their hazardous aspects. Callus culture represents an important tool in toxicological studies to evaluate the impact of nanomaterials on plants and their potential environmental risk.

Green microalgae are single-celled eukaryotic organisms that, in recent years, are becoming increasingly important in the nutraceutical, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical fields because of their high content of bioactive compounds. In this study, a particular green microalga was isolated from freshwater highland lakes of Ecuador and morphologically and molecularly identified as (ChA), and it was studied for nutritional and nutraceutical properties. The phenolic composition and the fatty acids profile of lyophilized cells were determined.

Duckweeds are aquatic plants often used in phytotoxic studies for their small size, simple structure, rapid growth, high sensitivity to pollutants and facility of maintaining under laboratory conditions. In this paper, induced phytotoxic effects were investigated in Lemna minor and Lemna minuta after exposition to silver nitrate (AgNO) and silver nanoparticles stabilized with sodium citrate and L-Cysteine (AgNPs-Cit-L-Cys) at different concentrations (0, 20 and 50 mg/L) and times (7 and 14 days). Lemna species responses were evaluated analyzing plant growth (mat thickness, fresh and dry biomass, relative growth rate - RGR) and physiological parameters (chlorophyll - Chl, malondialdehyde - MDA, ascorbate peroxidase - APX and catalase - CAT).
