Background: Multiligament knee injuries (MLKIs) are heterogeneous, and bicruciate knee ligament injuries are considered a serious form of this injury. The current literature tends not to distinguish between single and bicruciate MLKI when reporting outcomes.
Purpose: To investigate patient-reported outcomes after surgical treatment of MLKI comparing single cruciate MLKI with bicruciate MLKI.

Background: Left bundle branch block (LBBB) causes left atrial (LA) dyssynchrony. It is unknown if LA dyssynchrony impacts long-term prognosis.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine mechanisms of LA dyssynchrony in LBBB and if LA dyssynchrony impacts long-term prognosis.
Right ventricular (RV) (dys)function determines outcomes in pulmonary hypertension (PH). We previously found that asymmetric RV myocardial work (MW) corresponds with inefficient RV function in experimental PH models. We therefore aimed to investigate regional distribution of RV MW and its correlation with catheter hemodynamics in children with PH.

Objective: To utilize sidestream dark field video microscopic technology to evaluate the endothelium in a canine hemorrhagic shock and resuscitation model.
Methods: 6 purpose-bred adult dogs were anesthetized, instrumented, and subjected to hemorrhagic shock from September 2021 through June 2022. Each dog was resuscitated with 5 resuscitation strategies in an experimental crossover design study: (1) lactated Ringer's solution (LRS) and hydroxyethyl starch (HES) solution; (2) canine chilled whole blood (CWB); (3) canine fresh frozen plasma (FFP) and packed RBCs (pRBC); (4) canine freeze-dried plasma (FDP) and hemoglobin-based oxygen carrier (HBOC); or (5) HBOC/FDP and canine lyophilized platelets.

This article reviews and discusses non-myocardial disorders that represent diagnostic challenges when evaluating patients for suspected heart failure with preserved left ventricular ejection fraction. This includes pre-capillary pulmonary hypertension, which is important to differentiate from post-capillary hypertension caused by left-sided heart disease. The impact of electrical disorders on LV diastolic function is also reviewed, and includes a discussion of left bundle branch, which has both a direct effect on LV diastolic function, as well as a long-term effect due to remodelling.

This article reviews roles of the left atrium as regulator of left ventricular filling, as compensatory reserve in left ventricular dysfunction and as diagnostic marker in patients with cardiovascular disorders. Application of novel imaging tools to assess left atrial function and their integration with conventional clinical methods are discussed. This includes a review of clinical applications of left atrial strain as a method to quantify the reservoir and booster pump components of left atrial function.

Animal longevity is a function of global vital organ functionality and, consequently, a complex polygenic trait. Yet, monogenic regulators controlling overall or organ-specific ageing exist, owing their conservation to their function in growth and development. Here, by using pathway analysis combined with wet-biology methods on several dynamic timelines, we identified Hnf1a as a novel master regulator of the maturation and ageing in the adult pancreatic islet during the first year of life.
