Measurements of the inclusive and differential fiducial cross sections of the Higgs boson are presented, using the τ lepton decay channel. The differential cross sections are measured as functions of the Higgs boson transverse momentum, jet multiplicity, and transverse momentum of the leading jet in the event, if any. The analysis is performed using proton-proton collision data collected with the CMS detector at the LHC at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb^{-1}.

This manuscript summarizes recent results on the development of composite luminescent materials based on the single-crystalline films and single crystals of simple and mixed garnet compounds obtained by the liquid-phase epitaxy growth method. Such composite materials can be applied as scintillating and thermoluminescent (TL) detectors for radiation monitoring of mixed ionization fluxes, as well as scintillation screens in the microimaging techniques. The film and crystal parts of composite detectors were fabricated from efficient scintillation/TL materials based on Ce-, Pr-, and Sc-doped LuAlO garnets, as well as Ce-doped GdAAlGaO mixed garnets, where A = Lu or Tb; x = 0-1; y = 2-3 with significantly different scintillation decay or positions of the main peaks in their TL glow curves.

Previous studies have shown the ability of nanocomplexes (NCs), which consist of nanoparticles (NPs) of orthovanadates of rare earth metals (GdYVO:Eu) and cholesterol, to inhibit the growth of Ehrlich's ascites carcinoma (EAC). However, the biosafety of these NCs remains unclear. Our objective was to investigate the acute and subchronic toxicity of NCs.

A combination of searches for top squark pair production using proton-proton collision data at a center-of-mass energy of 13 at the CERN LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 137 collected by the CMS experiment, is presented. Signatures with at least 2 jets and large missing transverse momentum are categorized into events with 0, 1, or 2 leptons. New results for regions of parameter space where the kinematical properties of top squark pair production and top quark pair production are very similar are presented.

A search is presented for a heavy vector resonance decaying into a boson and the standard model Higgs boson, where the boson is identified through its leptonic decays to electrons, muons, or neutrinos, and the Higgs boson is identified through its hadronic decays. The search is performed in a Lorentz-boosted regime and is based on data collected from 2016 to 2018 at the CERN LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 137 . Upper limits are derived on the production of a narrow heavy resonance , and a mass below 3.

These parameters control the description of multiple-parton interactions (MPI) and colour reconnection in , and are obtained from a fit to minimum-bias data collected by the CMS experiment at , 7, and . The tunes are based on the NNPDF 3.

Collinear (small-angle) and large-angle, as well as soft and hard radiations are investigated in three-jet and + two-jet events collected in proton-proton collisions at the LHC. The normalized production cross sections are measured as a function of the ratio of transverse momenta of two jets and their angular separation. The measurements in the three-jet and + two-jet events are based on data collected at a center-of-mass energy of 8 , corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.

Oxidative stress caused by an overproduction of reactive oxygen species (ROS) is the key factor in developing a variety of pathological conditions. Recently various nanomaterials have attracted growing interest as nanoantioxidants with ROS-regulating ability. Here, for the first time, we report on high antioxidant behavior (enzyme-like activity) of GdYVO:Eunanoparticles (GdYVO NPs) revealed by spectroscopic methods both in cell-free and biological milieu using various ROS sensors.

The use of the sonoluminescence spectroscopy for the determination of main components in concentrated aqueous solution of alkali metal halides is examined. In concentrated RCl solutions (R = Li, Na, K; = 100-600 g · dm) the sonoluminescence intensity is inversely proportional to ultrasound frequency in the range from 2 Hz up to 5 Hz. In the CsCl case the inverse proportionality is disturbed at ultrasound frequencies higher than 3 MHz.

Effect of prolong use of orthovanadate nanoparticles (GdVO/Eu NPs (8 × 25 nm)) on life quality and survival of male Wistar rats on the late stage of ontogenesis (from 23 months to the end of life) has been investigated. Multi-parametric assessment of orthovanadate NPs influences against metformin (Met) which is a well-known calorie restriction mimetic (CR-mimetic) has been completed. The quality of life was assessed by taking into account age-related hallmarks-phenotype and some physiological parameters (condition of the coat, body weight, concentration of thyroxine, rectal temperature) as well as indicators of the pro-oxidant/antioxidant balance of blood and liver (the content of lipid hydroperoxides; aconitase, glutathione peroxidase, glutathione reductase, glutaredoxin activity, and activity of NADP-dehydrogenases (DG) (glucose-6-phosphate DG, malate DG, and isocitrate DG)) in aging animals.
