Familial adult myoclonus epilepsy/benign adult familial myoclonic epilepsy (FAME/BAFME) has emerged as a specific and recognizable epilepsy syndrome with autosomal dominant inheritance found around the world. Here, we trace the history of this syndrome. Initially, it was likely conflated with other familial myoclonus epilepsies, especially the progressive myoclonus epilepsies.

Methods: We enrolled all patients admitted to the emergency department between September 2021 and February 2022 meeting the CDC work case definition, with symptoms onset after mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccine. Alternative virologic causes were excluded.

We propose an instructive figure that summarized the classification of epilepsy syndromes according to the 2022 report of the ILAE Task Force on Nosology and Definitions. Our aim is to present on the same figure different concepts such as the names of epilepsy syndromes, their extreme and classical ages of onset, their epilepsy types (generalized, focal, or generalized and focal) but also their membership in groups of epilepsy syndromes as for self-limited or developmental and epileptic encephalopathies. With this figure, we provide an interactive tool, as supplementary data, helping to present this classification and link it to electro-clinical mandatory, alerts, and exclusionary criteria of each syndrome, in accordance with the ILAE position papers on syndromes classification and nosology.

Objective: The paucity of longitudinal natural history studies in MPZ neuropathy remains a barrier to clinical trials. We have completed a longitudinal natural history study in patients with MPZ neuropathies across 13 sites of the Inherited Neuropathies Consortium.
Methods: Change in Charcot-Marie-Tooth Examination Score (CMTES) and Rasch modified CMTES (CMTES-R) were evaluated using longitudinal regression over a 5-year period in subjects with MPZ neuropathy.

Background And Purpose: Cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) has been associated with a variety of neurodegenerative disorders, included prion diseases and Alzheimer's disease; its pathophysiology is still largely unknown. We report the case of an 80-year-old man with rapidly progressive dementia and neuroimaging features consistent with CAA carrying two genetic defects in the PRNP and SORL1 genes.
Methods: Neurological examination, brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), electroencephalographic-electromyographic (EEG-EMG) polygraphy, and analysis of 14-3-3 and tau proteins, Aβ40, and Aβ42 in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) were performed.

Objective: Data on COVID-19 outcomes in persons with epilepsy (PWE) are scarce and inconclusive. We aimed to study the risk of hospitalization and death for COVID-19 in a large cohort of PWE from March 1, 2020 to October 31, 2021.
Methods: The historical cohort design (EpiLink Bologna) compared adult PWE grouped into people with focal epilepsy (PFE), idiopathic generalized epilepsy (PIGE), and developmental and/or epileptic encephalopathy (PDEE), and a population cohort matched (ratio 1:10) for age, sex, residence, and comorbidity (assessed with the multisource comorbidity score), living in the local health trust of Bologna (approximately 800 000 residents).

Objective: Recent work has shown that people with common epilepsies have characteristic patterns of cortical thinning, and that these changes may be progressive over time. Leveraging a large multicenter cross-sectional cohort, we investigated whether regional morphometric changes occur in a sequential manner, and whether these changes in people with mesial temporal lobe epilepsy and hippocampal sclerosis (MTLE-HS) correlate with clinical features.
Methods: We extracted regional measures of cortical thickness, surface area, and subcortical brain volumes from T1-weighted (T1W) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans collected by the ENIGMA-Epilepsy consortium, comprising 804 people with MTLE-HS and 1625 healthy controls from 25 centers.
