Owing to similar clinical presentations, cervical spondylotic myelopathy can mimic other neurological disorders. In this imaging case review (ICR), we describe a case of cervical spondylotic myelopathy in a patient diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. The key clinical features, imaging findings and differential diagnoses of cervical spondylotic myelopathy compared with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis are also presented.

Cam-type deformities of the proximal femur have long been associated with femoroacetabular impingement (FAI); an orthopedic condition recognized in the etiology of early osteoarthritis (OA) in the non-dysplastic adult hip. However, the optimal clinical management (including the long-term prognosis) of patients with cam-type deformities with or without FAI symptoms remains uncertain. In this imaging case review (ICR), we present the 10-year follow-up of a retired chiropractor with bilateral cam-type femoral deformities who initially underwent total right hip joint arthroplasty for advanced hip joint OA, and subsequently developed advanced hip joint OA on the contralateral side.

Despite the high prevalence and burden of dysphagia in Parkinson disease (PD), the availability and trustworthiness of clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) regarding its assessment and management remains uncertain. The objective of this study is to appraise the quality of CPGs for dysphagia in PD. We searched OVID Medline, Embase, CINAHL and SpeechBite from January 2011 to July 2023 for guidance documents addressing screening, referral, monitoring, assessment, or management of dysphagia in PD.

Background: In recent studies, receipt of chiropractic care has been associated with lower odds of receiving prescription opioids and, among those already prescribed, reduced doses of opioids among patients with non-cancer spine pain. These findings suggest that access to chiropractic services may reduce reliance on opioids for musculoskeletal pain.
Objective: To assess the impact of chiropractic care on initiation, or continued use, of prescription opioids among patients with non-cancer spine pain.

Background: International Medical Graduates (IMG) are an essential part of the international physician workforce, and exploring the predictors of success and failure for IMGs could help inform international and national physician labour workforce selection and planning. The objective of this study was to explore predictors for success for selection of IMGs into high stakes postgraduate training positions and practice and not necessarily for informing IMGs.
Methods: We searched 11 databases, including Medline, Embase and LILACS, from inception to February 2022 for studies that explored the predictors of success and failure in IMGs.

Introduction: Identifying key differences between manufacturers' submitted analysis and economic reanalysis by the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health (CADTH) is an important step toward understanding reimbursement recommendations. We compared economic values reported in manufacturers' analysis with the CADTH reanalysis and also assessed methodological critiques.
Methods: Two reviewers extracted data from the clinical and economic reports in publicly available CADTH reports from 2018 to 2022.

Objective: The purpose of this review was to examine the reporting in chiropractic mixed methods research using Good Reporting of A Mixed Methods Study (GRAMMS) criteria.
Methods: In this methodological review, we searched MEDLINE, Embase, CINAHL, and the Index to Chiropractic Literature from the inception of each database to December 31, 2020, for chiropractic studies reporting the use of both qualitative and quantitative methods or mixed qualitative methods. Pairs of reviewers independently screened titles, abstracts, and full-text studies, extracted data, and appraised reporting using the GRAMMS criteria and risk of bias with the Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool (MMAT).

Pain Informed Movement is a novel intervention combining mind-body techniques with neuromuscular exercise and pain neuroscience education (PNE), aimed at improving endogenous pain modulation. While the feasibility and acceptability of this program has been previously established, it now requires further evaluation in comparison to standard KOA care.

Chronic post-surgical pain is reported by up to 40% of patients after lumbar microdiscectomy for sciatica, a complaint associated with disability and loss of productivity. We conducted a systematic review of observational studies to explore factors associated with persistent leg pain and impairments after microdiscectomy for sciatica. We searched eligible studies in MEDLINE, Embase, and CINAHL that explored, in an adjusted model, predictors of persistent leg pain, physical impairment, or failure to return to work after microdiscectomy for sciatica.
