The end of treatment (EOT) is a significant time point along the childhood cancer treatment-survivorship continuum, and is recognized as a time when childhood cancer survivors (CCS) and their families experience significant vulnerability and stress. There is a call by families and healthcare professionals alike for standardized, comprehensive EOT services to successfully navigate through this transition period and better cope with posttreatment medical, physical, and social-emotional issues. A multidisciplinary team of pediatric oncology health care professionals developed and implemented a two-session psychoeducational program to address these EOT needs.

Background: Government programs-targeting chronic disease patients with high health care costs-focus on clinical conditions, factors internal to the health care system, and individual patient education, not on addressing modifiable social determinants of health to reduce health care utilization.
Objective: To evaluate differences in sociodemographic variables and health care utilization between patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) who reported food insecurity and those who did not.
Methods: This descriptive retrospective cross-sectional study used data from the electronic health records of a convenience sample of 854 participants with a discharge diagnosis of COPD or COPD with acute exacerbation, admitted via the emergency department of participating hospitals in Southern California.

Atrial flutter is a supraventricular cardiac arrhythmia commonly characterized by two or three rapid atrial contractions for every ventricular contraction and a rapid ventricular rate that can be identified by a sawtooth pattern on an electrocardiogram. Patients often present with symptoms of heart failure and face the risk of atrial thrombus with a potential for systemic embolization. As such, pharmacologic rate and rhythm control, transesophageal echocardiogram, direct current cardioversion, and anticoagulation therapies may all be required for patient management.

Introduction: To date, it is still unclear if exposure to violence affects psychological distress in middle-aged adults and if the effects are gender specific. This age group is of special interest as it is at the onset of the aging process and is often overlooked or understudied in scholarly research. Specifically, targeted research on middle-aged Muslims living in Israel, a unique population exposed to increasing violence, is lacking.

Objective: Preterm infants need enrichment of human milk (HM) for optimal growth. This study evaluated a novel, point-of-care human milk concentration (HMC) process for water removal from fresh HM samples by passive osmotic concentration.
Study Design: Nineteen fresh HM samples were concentrated by incubation with the HMC devices for 3 h at 4 °C.

The American Nurses Association Enterprise (ANA Enterprise) Research Advisory Council plays a vital role in bringing nursing voices together and shaping the dynamic landscape of nursing research. Historically, its priorities have revolved around 4 pivotal research priorities: advancing research capacity, promoting interprofessional collaboration, enhancing data structures and governance, and propelling practice-based nursing research. In a remarkable transition, the 2024 Research Priorities of the ANA Enterprise Research Advisory Council align with the vision and strategic goals of the ANA Enterprise.

Providing end-of-life (EOL) care to pediatric patients and their families is challenging. Newly licensed nurses, especially those working with the hematology/oncology population, have little to no experience providing the specialized care needed for the dying child. An evidence-based continuing professional development activity provided a novel approach to improve the knowledge, attitudes, and comfort levels of nurse residents related to pediatric EOL care.

Background: Breastfeeding and human milk have well-documented health benefits for newborn infants, particularly those who are sick. However, breastfeeding rates and human milk feeding among infants in neonatal intensive units (NICU) in Thailand are still low; thus, breastfeeding promotion and support are required for Thai mothers of premature infants. Newly graduated nurses can play a critical role within the healthcare support system and can have a significant impact on improving breastfeeding practices in the NICU.

Introduction: Nurses and respiratory therapists working on the frontline during the pandemic surge were short-staffed and worked extended hours while adding new tasks to already demanding workloads. As the world watched news covering COVID-19's effect, nurses and respiratory therapists lived through the daily stress of treating each patient with care, dignity, and compassion. Limited studies have focused on this population, which is vital to providing care and saving lives; research is needed to understand nurses' and respiratory therapists' experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic.

To raise nurses' voices and promote nurse-led research, the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Research Council 2022 Research Priorities included disseminating a research agenda for practice-based research, promoting interprofessional research, and encouraging equitable and inclusive participation on research teams. Expressions of nurses from around the world, however, described how organizational constraints and financial barriers are real challenges that nurse researchers must face, along with forming interdisciplinary teams to work with human subjects. Entities doing research seem to have a heavy focus on academic research where clinical bedside nurses feel separated from nursing research.

A pulmonary cavity is defined as a gas-filled space within a zone of pulmonary consolidation or within a mass or nodule. These cavities can be identified through imaging such as plain chest radiography and computed tomography. Pulmonary cavities arise from a variety of conditions that are infectious or noninfectious, leading to a broad range of differential diagnoses.

Across their lifespans, and in many clinical settings, patients have spiritual care needs. Many nurses lack competence related to providing spiritual care. Popular educational strategies, such as simulated educational programs and objective structured clinical examinations (OSCE), have not been widely adopted in nursing spiritual care education.
