Introduction: The integration of AI into healthcare is widely anticipated to revolutionize medical diagnostics, enabling earlier, more accurate disease detection and personalized care.

Methods: In this study, we developed and validated an AI-assisted diagnostic support tool using only routinely ordered and broadly available blood tests to predict the presence of major chronic and acute diseases as well as rare disorders.

Results: Our model was tested on both retrospective and prospective datasets comprising over one million patients.

High throughput in-line content uniformity measurement of tablets based on real-time UV imaging.

This paper presents a precursor of a novel, high-throughput, in-line system, which utilizes ultraviolet (UV) imaging in order to predict the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) content of tablets in real-time, non-destructive manner. Pimobendan, cardiovascular drug used in veterinary medicine was chosen as a fluorescent model API. Two experiments were carried out using different measurement setups, where the tablets were moving at different speeds.

Most recently single-cell omics clocks were developed for the mouse, however, extensive profiling the age of human cells is still lacking. Although cancer is an age-related disease, how the processes of aging contribute to cancer progression is not well understood. In this study, we uncovered how mouse B cell lymphoma develops as a consequence of a naturally aged system. We show here that this malignancy is associated with an age-associated clonal B cell (ACBC) population that likely originates from age-associated B cells.

In this paper, we propose a novel, vision-transformer-based end-to-end pose estimation method, LidPose, for real-time human skeleton estimation in non-repetitive circular scanning (NRCS) lidar point clouds. Building on the ViTPose architecture, we introduce novel adaptations to address the unique properties of NRCS lidars, namely, the sparsity and unusual rosetta-like scanning pattern. The proposed method addresses a common issue of NRCS lidar-based perception, namely, the sparsity of the measurement, which needs balancing between the spatial and temporal resolution of the recorded data for efficient analysis of various phenomena.

It is known that the quantity, makeup, and distribution of bodily fluids have a significant impact on the cognitive health, physiological health, and cell activity of human beings. This narrative could be influenced by the level of knowledge about hydration, dehydration, and the practice of Adequate Water Intake (AWI) of an individual based on the recommended daily Total Water Intake (TWI) by either the World Health Organization (WHO) or the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). This work presents a maturity model for assessing catalogues of semantic artefacts, one of the keystones that permit semantic interoperability of systems. We defined the dimensions and related features to include in the maturity model by analysing the current literature and existing catalogues of semantic artefacts provided by experts. In addition, we assessed 26 different catalogues to demonstrate the effectiveness of the maturity model, which includes 12 different dimensions (Metadata, Openness, Quality, Availability, Statistics, PID, Governance, Community, Sustainability, Technology, Transparency, and Assessment) and 43 related features (or sub-criteria) associated with these dimensions.

This paper introduces a noise augmentation technique designed to enhance the robustness of state-of-the-art (SOTA) deep learning models against degraded image quality, a common challenge in long-term recording systems. Our method, demonstrated through the classification of digital holographic images, utilizes a novel approach to synthesize and apply random colored noise, addressing the typically encountered correlated noise patterns in such images. Empirical results show that our technique not only maintains classification accuracy in high-quality images but also significantly improves it when given noisy inputs without increasing the training time.

In this paper, a finite volume discretization scheme for partial integro-differential equations (PIDEs) describing the temporal evolution of protein distribution in gene regulatory networks is proposed. It is shown that the obtained set of ODEs can be formally represented as a compartmental kinetic system with a strongly connected reaction graph. This allows the application of the theory of nonnegative and compartmental systems for the qualitative analysis of the approximating dynamics.

Epigenetic 'clocks' based on DNA methylation have emerged as the most robust and widely used aging biomarkers, but conventional methods for applying them are expensive and laborious. Here we develop tagmentation-based indexing for methylation sequencing (TIME-seq), a highly multiplexed and scalable method for low-cost epigenetic clocks. Using TIME-seq, we applied multi-tissue and tissue-specific epigenetic clocks in over 1,800 mouse DNA samples from eight tissue and cell types.

Aging has strong genetic components and the list of genes that may regulate the aging process is collected in the GenAge database. There may be characteristic patterns in the amino acid sequences of aging-related proteins that distinguish them from other proteins and this information will lead to a better understanding of the aging process. To test this hypothesis, human protein sequences are extracted from the UniProt database and the relative frequency of every amino acid residue in aging-related proteins and the remaining proteins is calculated.
