High-risk (HR) cytogenetics are associated with poor outcomes in newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (NDMM), and dedicated studies should address this difficult-to-treat population. The phase 2 study 2018-04 from the Intergroupe Francophone du Myelome evaluated feasibility of an intensive strategy with quadruplet induction and consolidation plus tandem transplant in HR transplant-eligible (TE) NDMM. HR cytogenetics were defined by presence of del(17p), t(4;14), and/or t(14;16).

In radiotherapy, patient positioning has long been ensured by ionizing imaging (kV or MV). Over the past ten years, surface-guided radiotherapy has appeared in radiotherapy departments. It is a continuous three-dimensional acquisition of the surface of the patient, based on the use of several optical cameras.

The neddylation inhibitor MLN4924/Pevonedistat is in clinical trials for multiple cancers. Efficacy is generally attributed to cullin RING ligase (CRL) inhibition, but the contribution of non-CRL targets is unknown. Here, CRISPR screens map MLN4924-monotherapy sensitivity in retinoblastoma to a classic DNA damage-induced p53/E2F3/BAX-dependent death effector network, which synergizes with Nutlin3a or Navitoclax.

Purpose: Data about incidence, biological, and clinical characteristics of oligometastatic breast cancer (OMBC) are scarce. However, these data are essential in determining optimal treatment strategy. Gaining knowledge of these elements means observing and describing large, recent, and consecutive series of OMBC in their natural history.

Background: Postoperative frequently occurs in the elderly after hip fracture surgery and is associated with poor outcomes. Our aim was to identify a correlation between the atropinic burden (AB) due to drugs with clinical antimuscarinic effect and the occurrence of postoperative .
Methods: We carried out a prospective, monocentric, observational study including 67 patients over 65 years of age who underwent hip fracture surgery.

The Sphingosine kinase-1/Sphingosine 1-Phosphate (SphK1/S1P) signaling pathway is overexpressed in various cancers, and is instrumental for the adaptation to hypoxia in a number of solid tumor models, but no data are available in osteosarcoma. Here we report that SphK1 and the S1P receptor are involved in HIF-1α accumulation in hypoxic osteosarcoma cells. FTY720 (Fingolimod), which targets SphK1 and S1P prevented HIF-1α accumulation, and also inhibited cell proliferation in both normoxia and hypoxia unlike conventional chemotherapy.

Radiotherapy for Hodgkin lymphomas has evolved a lot over time, but still plays an important role, almost always in addition to chemotherapy, for the management of the early stages. The major objective is to preserve the quality of life of patients who will be cured from this disease in the vast majority of cases. Also, the personalization of the indications for the purpose of de-escalating toxicity is very refined and is essentially based on the pre- and pertherapeutic assessment by FDG-PET.

We present the update of the recommendations of the French society of oncological radiotherapy on hepatic tumours. Recent technological progress led to develop the concept of focused liver radiation therapy. We must distinguish primary and secondary tumours, as the indications are restricted and must be discussed as an alternative to surgical or medical treatments.

We present the update of the recommendations of the French society of oncological radiotherapy on respiratory motion management for external radiotherapy treatment. Since twenty years and the report 62 of ICRU, motion management during the course of radiotherapy treatment has become an increasingly significant concern, particularly with the development of hypofractionated treatments under stereotactic conditions, using reduced safety margins. This article related orders of motion amplitudes for different organs as well as the definition of the margins in radiotherapy.

Objective: In France, we are lacking an identified pathway for training in gynaecological cancer surgery. The four competent French learned societies, the SFOG, the CNGOF, the SFCO and the SCGP, supported by the CNU of Obstetrics &Gynaecology- and UNICANCER, agreed to materialize this course and attest it by a certification awarded by a national jury.
Material And Methods: The national committee of certification in gynaecological oncology made up of 10 members, representing the 6 concerned organizations, set itself 5 objectives: the definition of the eligibility criteria for training centres; the determination of a check-list to be filled by the candidate; the determination of a targeted curriculum for the training in gynecological oncological surgery; the determination of the assets necessary for the certification of a candidate already in practice; and the practical organization of the certification.

Purpose: Monte Carlo (MC) is the reference computation method for medical physics. In radiotherapy, MC computations are necessary for some issues (such as assessing figures of merit, double checks, and dose conversions). A tool based on GATE is proposed to easily create full MC simulations of the Varian TrueBeam STx.

Deep-learning (DL)-based auto-contouring solutions have recently been proposed as a convincing alternative to decrease workload of target volumes and organs-at-risk (OAR) delineation in radiotherapy planning and improve inter-observer consistency. However, there is minimal literature of clinical implementations of such algorithms in a clinical routine. In this paper we first present an update of the state-of-the-art of DL-based solutions.

Does oligometastatic breast cancer (OMBC) deserve a dedicated treatment? Although some authors recommend multidisciplinary management of OMBC with a curative intent, there is no evidence proving this strategy beneficial in the absence of a randomized trial. The existing literature sheds little light on OMBC. Incidence is unknown; data available are either obsolete or biased; there is no consensus on the definition of OMBC and metastatic sites, nor on necessary imaging techniques.

In radiotherapy, patient-specific quality assurance is very time-consuming and causes machine downtime. It consists of testing (using measurement with a phantom and detector) if a modulated plan is correctly delivered by a treatment unit. Artificial intelligence and in particular machine learning algorithms were mentioned in recent reports as promising solutions to reduce or eliminate the patient-specific quality assurance workload.

Modern radiotherapy treatment planning is a complex and time-consuming process that requires the skills of experienced users to obtain quality plans. Since the early 2000s, the automation of this planning process has become an important research topic in radiotherapy. Today, the first commercial automated treatment planning solutions are available and implemented in a growing number of clinical radiotherapy departments.
