Influence of DPYD gene polymorphisms on 5-Fluorouracil toxicities in Thai colorectal cancer patients.

DPYD polymorphisms have been widely found to be related to 5-FU-induced toxicities. The aim of this study was to establish significant associations between five single-nucleotide polymorphisms of DPYD and 5-FU hematological toxicities in Thai colorectal cancer patients. The toxicities were analyzed at the first and second cycles of 5-FU administration in 75 patients.

Transplant in myeloma: who, when, and why?

High-dose melphalan supported by autologous transplantation has been the standard of care for eligible patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma for nearly 30 years. Several randomized clinical trials have reaffirmed the strong position of transplant in the era of triplets combining proteasome inhibitors, immunomodulatory drugs, and dexamethasone. Although quadruplets are becoming the standard in transplantation programs, no data are currently available on the need for a transplant with new regimens incorporating anti-CD38 monoclonal antibodies.

Role of molecular alterations in transplantation decisions for patients with primary myelofibrosis.

Material And Methods: Sixty participants were included in this study, divided into three groups: 22 irradiated PFT, 17 non-irradiated PFT, and 21 healthy controls. All underwent memory tests and multimodal MRI, including a DTI sequence.

Introduction: Therapeutic drug monitoring of imatinib is widely performed to individualize imatinib dosage. While N-desmethyl imatinib is an active metabolite of imatinib, its concentrations are not routinely determined.

Methods: Imatinib and N-desmethyl imatinib trough plasma concentrations at steady-state were obtained from 295 patients with either chronic myeloid leukemia or gastrointestinal stromal tumor to see whether N-desmethyl imatinib provided additional information.
