Background: Child maltreatment is a significant social problem impacting both health and society, with severe and enduring consequences. Certain children, such as those with neurodevelopmental conditions like autism, may be more at risk of experiencing maltreatment. However, little research has examined the characteristics of these children.

Background: Lower maternal insulin sensitivity during pregnancy is associated with greater fetal adiposity. Physical activity can improve insulin sensitivity, but it is not known if physical behaviours influence the known association of maternal insulin sensitivity with offspring adiposity. Objective: Tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is a monogenetic disorder associated with sustained mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR) activation, leading to heterogeneous clinical manifestations. Epilepsy and renal angiomyolipoma are the most important causes of morbidity in adult people with TSC (pwTSC). mTOR is a key player in inflammation, which in turn could influence TSC-related clinical manifestations.

Background: Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the scientific community has been concerned about the high rates of psychological distress among adolescents. The pandemic not only tested adolescents' adaptation, but also disrupted key areas of their development. Now that the pandemic is over, it is time to put in place actions to improve the capacity of systems to meet knowledge needs in a situation of crisis. The main objective of this project was thus to develop an action plan for the rapid syntheses of evidence in times of health crisis in Quebec (Canada).

Chronic pain is a pervasive and debilitating condition with increasing implications for public health, affecting millions of individuals worldwide. A systematic search of Medline, Embase, CINAHL, AMED, and PubMed databases was conducted to identify studies on e-health interventions targeting PA promotion in individuals aged 50 and older, published between 2012 and 2023.

Background And Aims: Familial chylomicronemia syndrome (FCS) and multifactorial chylomicronemia syndrome (MCS) are the two main causes of severe hypertriglyceridemia (sHTG). FCS is a rare autosomal recessive form of sHTG, whereas MCS is mainly polygenic in nature with both common and rare variants accumulating and leading to sHTG. The Dysphagiameter is a newly developed patient-reported outcome measure (PROM) to assess the severity of dysphagia and its impact in patients with OPMD.
