Sleep health is both conceptually and operationally a composite concept containing multiple domains of sleep. In line with this, high dependence and interaction across different domains of sleep health encourage a transition in sleep health research from categorical to dimensional approaches that integrate neuroscience and sleep health. Here, we seek to identify the covariance patterns between multiple sleep health domains and distributed intrinsic functional connectivity by applying a multivariate approach (partial least squares).

As an advanced interaction mode, gestures have been widely used for human-computer interaction (HCI). This paper proposes a multi-objective optimization method based on the objective function JCP to solve the inconsistency between the gesture comfort JCS and measurement precision JPH in the gesture interaction. The proposed comfort model CS takes seventeen muscles and six degrees of freedom into consideration based on the data from muscles and joints, and is capable of simulating the energy expenditure of the gesture motion.

November 2023

Inner Mongolia Key Laboratory of Biomass-Energy Conversion, School of Life Science and Technology, Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology, 7 Aerding Street, Baotou, 014010 People's Republic of China.

Unlabelled: Chemically defined media (CDM) can eliminate or lessen the interference that occurs in complex culture media (CCM) caused by the undefined substrate pools, and various CDM have been designed and employed for investigating microbial physiology and multiomics. Herein, using the measured amount of total amino acids in CCM and combined with the in vivo and in vitro amino acid content of subsp. YF11, new enriched CDM were designed and then optimized using a statistical design-of-experiment method coupling with fed-batch fermentation to eliminate or lessen the influence of hyperosmotic pressure.

Exploring objective feature sets in constructing the evolution relationship of animal genome sequences.

BMC Genomics

October 2023

Laboratory of Theoretical Biophysics, School of Physical Science and Technology, Inner Mongolia University, Hohhot, 010021, China.

Background: Exploring evolution regularities of genome sequences and constructing more objective species evolution relationships at the genomic level are high-profile topics. Based on the evolution mechanism of genome sequences proposed in our previous research, we found that only the 8-mers containing CG or TA dinucleotides correlate directly with the evolution of genome sequences, and the relative frequency rather than the actual frequency of these 8-mers is more suitable to characterize the evolution of genome sequences.

Result: Therefore, two types of feature sets were obtained, they are the relative frequency sets of CG1 + CG2 8-mers and TA1 + TA2 8-mers.

To explore the effect of biochar on greenhouse gas emissions and the carbon footprint of a corn farmland ecosystem under drip irrigation with film in an arid region, biochar treatments with different application rates[0 (CK), 15 (C15), 30 (C30), and 45 t·hm (C45)] were established. The seasonal changes in soil greenhouse gases (CO, NO, and CH) and their comprehensive warming potential in the maize farmland ecosystem were monitored for two consecutive years after a one-time application of biochar. The carbon emissions caused by agricultural production activities and their carbon footprint were estimated using the life cycle assessment method.

Background: Osteoarthritis (OA) is caused by a complex set of pathophysiological factors. The genetic factors involved in the occurrence and progress of the disease have been widely discussed by scholars. It was found that growth differentiation factor 5 (GDF5) gene polymorphisms may be linked to OA susceptibility, which has been controversial and needs to be further confirmed by an updated meta-analysis.
