This study presents a comprehensive method for detecting debonding defects in concrete-filled steel tube (CFST) structures using wave propagation analysis with externally attached piezoelectric ceramic sensors. Experimental tests and numerical simulations were conducted to evaluate the sensitivity and accuracy of two measurement techniques-the flat and oblique measurement methods-in detecting debonding defects of varying lengths and heights. The results demonstrate that the flat measurement method excels in detecting debonding height, while the oblique method is more effective for detecting debonding length.

Text recognition is a rapidly evolving task with broad practical applications across multiple industries. However, due to the arbitrary-shape text arrangement, irregular text font, and unintended occlusion of font, this remains a challenging task. To handle images with arbitrary-shape text arrangement and irregular text font, we designed the Discriminative Standard Text Font (DSTF) and the Feature Alignment and Complementary Fusion (FACF).

This paper presents the preparation of the parental experimental alloy, featuring a standard composition of TiYZrFeNiMn, via the vacuum induction melting technique. Subsequently, the TiYZrFeNiMn alloy, with an addition of 2 wt% Ni, underwent mechanical ball milling to yield a TiFe-based composite for experimental purposes. The results of the experimental tests indicate that the composite alloy's phase composition comprises the TiFe primary phase, with a minor quantity of ZrMn phase segregated on the surface of the primary TiFe phase, as well as Ni phase.

Spider silk is renowned for its exceptional toughness, with the strongest dragline silk composed of two proteins, MaSp1 and MaSp2, featuring central repetitive sequences and nonrepetitive terminal domains. Although these sequences to spider silk's strength and toughness, the specific roles of MaSp1 and MaSp2 at the atomic level remain unclear. Using AlphaFold3 models and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, we constructed models of MaSp1 and MaSp2 and validated their stability.

The mechanical responses of sandy soil under dynamic loading is closely related to protective engineering and geotechnical engineering, is still not fully understood. To investigate the energy attenuation law and propagation velocity of compressed waves in dry sandy soil, this paper focuses on the dynamic response of compression waves in the specimen under single impact and repetitive impact conditions using an improved split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB). The results reveal that the length of the specimen follows an exponential relationship with the attenuation of the peak stress.

In the course of pipe jacking construction, the carrying-soil effect frequently arises, influenced by factors such as excavation unloading, ongoing disturbance from successive pipe sections, and the progressive accumulation of soil adhesion. The pipe jacking slurry serves as a critical agent for friction reduction and strata support, essential for the secure advancement of the construction process. This study introduces the Microbial-Induced Calcium Carbonate Precipitation (MICP) technology into the realm of pipe jacking slurry, aiming to enhance its friction-reduction capabilities and the stability of the soil enveloping the pipe.

To solve the problems of insufficient stiffness and poor integrity of traditional F-type socket joints, steel screw connections are set along the longitudinal direction between rectangular pipe jacking joints. However, the mechanical properties of F-type socket joints with steel screw connections have not been fully investigated, and the influence of the coefficient of subgrade reaction has not been considered. In this work, through model tests and numerical simulations of F-type socket joints with steel screws under different coefficients of subgrade reaction, the influence of steel screws on the deformation and damage characteristics of F-type socket joints is discussed, and the bending mechanical response of F-type socket joints under different coefficients of subgrade reaction is analyzed.

Method: Sprague Dawley(SD)rats were divided into six groups: control, model, TACI-Ig low dose (TACI-Ig-L), medium dose (TACI-Ig-M), high dose (TACI-Ig-H), and prednisone acetate (PAT) group. The control group and model group received physiological saline injections, while the TACI-Ig groups were administered doses of 7.

Aims: The objective of the current study was to investigate the dynamic functional connectivity among large-scale brain networks in patients with insomnia, and to assess the efficacy of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) treatment in these individuals.
Methods: Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) data from 62 insomnia patients and 69 healthy controls were used to compare differences in dynamic functional connectivity between the two groups. A total of 26 insomnia patients underwent rTMS for four weeks.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a systemic inflammatory disease impacting both the respiratory and gastrointestinal systems, with its pathogenesis closely linked to the lung-gut axis theory. In this study, we established a rat model of COPD using a fumigation method combined with intra-airway administration of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) to investigate the effects of lactulose on lung and intestinal tissues, focusing on related inflammatory markers and the TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathway. We further explored the therapeutic effects and mechanisms of lactulose on the lung-intestinal tissues in COPD rats, aiming to expand its potential application in chronic respiratory diseases.

Background: This study conducted a comparative analysis among newborns with varying levels of hyperbilirubinemia, explored the relationships between magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) image features and serum bilirubin levels in hyperbilirubinemia, and proposed an automatic classification system based on deep learning (DL) for prediction of neonatal hyperbilirubinemia (NHB).
Methods: This retrospective study enrolled 606 consecutive neonates who had their serum bilirubin detected at the Xi'an Fourth Hospital, including 273 cases of patients and 333 cases of normal controls. After data preprocessing, MRI images were fed into the Inception-v3 network, graph convolutional network (GCN), and 3-dimensional (3D) patch-based GCN that introduced the graph attention mechanism (our GCN) for NHB analysis and classification, respectively.

Background: The response of gastric cancer (GC) patients to first-line programmed cell death 1 (PD-1) blockade and S-1 plus oxaliplatin (SOX) chemotherapy varies considerably, and the underlying mechanisms driving this variability remain elusive. Exosomal microRNAs (miRNAs or miRs) have emerged as potential biomarkers for efficacy prediction due to their roles in GC biology and stable expression in serum. In this study, we aimed to identify biomarkers to predict patients' response to anti-PD-1 therapy and further elucidate the potential mechanisms by which these exosomal miRNAs modulate the immune response in GC.

Inhibiting the PD-1/PD-L1 pathway using immunomodulators has demonstrated promising outcomes in clinics. Immunomodulators can effectively target immune checkpoints with a strong preference for the tumor microenvironment (TME). Besides, immunomodulators specifically target the recently discovered inhibitory immune checkpoint, sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin (Siglec-15).

Magnetic Barkhausen noise (MBN) is one of the most effective methods for determining the easy axis of ferromagnetic materials and for evaluating texture and residual stress in a nondestructive manner. MBN signals from multiple angles and different magnetization sections can be used to characterize magnetic anisotropy caused by various magnetization mechanisms. This paper reviews the development and application of magnetic anisotropy detection technology, and the MBN anisotropy models that take into account domain wall motion and magnetic domain rotation are analyzed thoroughly.

Ischemic stroke and acute lung injury are prevalent life-threatening conditions marked by intricate molecular mechanisms and elevated mortality rates. Despite evident pathophysiological distinctions, a notable similarity exists in the gene responses to tissue injury observed in both pathologies. This similarity extends to both protein-encoding RNAs and non-coding RNAs.
