Background: Current research on aripiprazole adjunct therapy suggests potential benefits in improving psychiatric symptoms and metabolic disorders in patients with schizophrenia. However, the evidence remains limited due to the scarcity of research and a lack of detailed analysis on glucose and lipid metabolism indicators. This study aims to systematically review and analyze randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to evaluate the effects of aripiprazole combination therapy on both psychiatric symptoms and glycolipid metabolism.

Protein circular permutations are crucial for understanding protein evolution and functionality. Traditional detection methods face challenges: sequence-based approaches struggle with detecting distant homologs, while structure-based approaches are limited by the need for structure generation and often treat proteins as rigid bodies. Protein Language Model-based alignment tools have shown advantages in utilizing sequence information to overcome the challenges of detecting distant homologs without requiring structural input.

The locus coeruleus (LC), as the primary source of norepinephrine (NE) in the brain, is central to modulating cognitive and behavioral processes. This review synthesizes recent findings to provide a comprehensive understanding of the LC-NE system, highlighting its molecular diversity, neurophysiological properties, and role in various brain functions. We discuss the heterogeneity of LC neurons, their differential responses to sensory stimuli, and the impact of NE on cognitive processes such as attention and memory.

Understanding these effects is essential for optimizing renewable fuel applications in compression ignition engines, contributing to cleaner combustion, and supporting sustainable transportation initiatives. The experiments revealed that increasing the EGR rate to 20% not only reduces NOx emissions by approximately 25% but also increases smoke by around 15%, highlighting a trade-off between NOx and particulate matter control.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of injecting flue gas (CO, N, and O) originating from coal-fired power plants into a coal seam on CH extraction and CO geological storage. To this end, a multifield thermal-fluid-solid-coupled mathematical model of flue gas injection extraction was established. The results showed that with the increase in time increase, the volume concentration of CH decreased, but the CO, N, and O increased.

The gut bacteria not only play a crucial role in maintaining human health but also exhibit close associations with the occurrence of numerous diseases. Understanding the physiological and pathological functions of gut bacteria and enabling early diagnosis of gut diseases heavily relies on accurate knowledge about their in vivo distribution. Consequently, there is a significant demand for noninvasive imaging techniques capable of providing real-time localization information regarding gut bacteria.

Accurate drug-target binding affinity (DTA) prediction is crucial in drug discovery. Recently, deep learning methods for DTA prediction have made significant progress. However, there are still two challenges: (1) recent models always ignore the correlations in drug and target data in the drug/target representation process and (2) the interaction learning of drug-target pairs always is by simple concatenation, which is insufficient to explore their fusion.

The main protease (M) is a pivotal target in the life cycle of feline coronavirus (FCoV), which causes a high mortality feline disease, feline infectious peritonitis (FIP). Virtual screening was performed against the feline coronavirus M to find active compounds with low toxicity from a library of natural products. Eighty-six compounds were selected by using the rank of docking score and binding pose analysis.

Wearable thermoelectric generator (TEG) can collect human body heat and convert it into electrical energy, achieving self-powering of the device and thus becoming a hot research topic at present. By utilization of three-dimensional spiral thin-film thermoelectric structures and passive radiation cooling methods, the heat transfer area can be increased and power generation can be enhanced. In order to study the effect of outdoor radiation cooling on the thermoelectric performance of spiral heating, as well as the TEG performance output under different external environments and circuit loads, this paper proposes a new three-dimensional coupled numerical model of the spiral thermoelectric wristband system with multiple physical fields.

In phage display technology, exogenous DNA is inserted into the phage genome, which generates a fusion protein with the phage coat protein, facilitates expression and promotes biological activity. This approach is primarily used to screen antibody libraries owing to its high library capacity and fast technical cycle; additionally, various types of genetically altered antibodies can be easily produced. In this study, we fused the pIII structural protein of the M13K07 phage with a scFv created by connecting the VH and VL domains of an anti-IFN-γ antibody.

This study investigates the therapeutic potential of hyaluronic acid/proanthocyanidin (HA/PAC) nanoparticles in treating alkali-induced corneal burns. Alkali burns are common ocular emergencies that can lead to severe vision impairment if not promptly and properly treated. The low water solubility of proanthocyanidins (PACs), which are potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agents, limits their bioavailability and therapeutic efficacy.

Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) was identified in China in late December 2019 and led to a pandemic that resulted in millions of confirmed cases and deaths. The causative agent, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), uses distinct receptors and co-receptors to enter host cells. Vimentin has emerged as a potential co-receptor for SARS-CoV-2 due to the high level of vimentin expression in testis tissue.

With the rapid development of tourism, the concentration of visitor flows poses significant challenges for public safety management, especially in low-light and highly occluded environments, where existing pedestrian detection technologies often struggle to achieve satisfactory accuracy. Although infrared images perform well under low-light conditions, they lack color and detail, making them susceptible to background noise interference, particularly in complex outdoor environments where the similarity between heat sources and pedestrian features further reduces detection accuracy. To address these issues, this paper proposes the FusionU10 model, which combines information from both infrared and visible light images.

Background: Osoto-gari is a leg throw technique that primarily relies on the hip extension to initiate the sweeping motion of the leg. A high sweep contact velocity is a crucial factor in efficiently executing this technique. While some literature emphasises whole-body coordination in the leg-sweeping action, the roles of trunk and head motion remain unclear.

Vetulicolians are an enigmatic phylum of extinct Cambrian marine invertebrates. They are particularly diverse in the Chengjiang Biota of China, but representatives have been recovered from other Fossil-Lagerstätten (Cambrian Stage 3-Drumian). These organisms are characterized by a bipartite body, which is split into an anterior section and a posterior segmented section connected by a narrow constriction.

The Moon's farside South Pole-Aitken (SPA) basin is the largest and oldest visible impact basin in the inner Solar System. Determining the timing of this catastrophic event is key to understanding the onset of the lunar basin-forming epoch, with implications for understanding the impact bombardment history of the inner Solar System. Despite this, the formation age of the SPA basin remains poorly constrained.
