In this investigation, surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) technology was performed to detect bucinnazine hydrochloride (BH) injection in water and urine. The theoretical Raman spectrum of BH with characteristic peaks was calculated and identified by density functional theory (DFT). Employing an improved silver sol as a SERS active substrate, the SERS spectra of a BH solution with different concentrations were acquired with a 0.

Co-hydrothermal carbonization (HTC) of lignocellulosic biomass and swine manure (SM) was conducted, and the hydrochar properties and transformation behavior of heavy metals (HMs) were investigated in this study. The results showed that co-HTC with lignocellulosic biomass promoted the dehydration of SM and enhanced the aromatization of the hydrochar. Compared to the hydrochar from SM, the carbon content, higher heating value and energy yield of the hydrochar from co-HTC were significantly increased, reaching the maximum of 57.

Objective: Light injury-induced apoptosis of retinal photoreceptor cells can lead to vision loss. The mechanism underlying such injury remains unclear, and there are no effective therapies at present. The aim of this study was to examine the potential antiapoptotic role of the cellular repressor of E1A-stimulated genes (CREG) in retinal cells in a rat model of light-induced retinal damage.

Rapamycin is known to inhibit the mammalian target of rapamycin complex (mTORC)1 signaling pathway, but it is unable to effectively inhibit mTORC2, resulting in activation of protein kinase B in multiple myeloma (MM) cell lines. Additionally, certain studies have suggested that resveratrol has an effect on human MM cells, and that rapamycin in combination with resveratrol may be useful in cancer therapy. The present study aimed to investigate the combined treatment effect of resveratrol and rapamycin on the MM MM1.

When stimulated, mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) may differentiate into chondroblasts, adipocytes or osteoblasts. Leptin is an adipocyte-derived hormone, which regulates food intake and glucose homeostasis. The aim of the present study was to identify the potential role of mitogen-activated protein kinase in the leptin-induced growth of rabbit bone MSCs (rBMSCs).

As a traditional Mongolian medicine, Sendeng-4 (SD) has been widely used to treat rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in Inner Mongolia and exhibits a good curative effect. Unfortunately, due to geographical factors, it is difficult to popularize this drug throughout the whole country, and the mechanism of action of SD has been unclear. In this study, a serum metabolite profile analysis was performed to identify potential biomarkers associated with adjuvant-induced RA and investigate the mechanism of action of SD.

The accelerator driven subcritical system (ADS) is regarded as a safe and clean nuclear power system, which can be used for the transmutation of nuclear waste and the breeding of nuclear fuel. In this study, in order to validate nuclear data and the neutron transportation performance of the materials related to ADS, we measured the leakage neutron spectra from multiple-slab sample assemblies using 14.8 MeV D-T neutrons.

Low immunogenicity is one of the major problems limiting the clinical use for DNA vaccines, which makes it impossible to obtain a strong protective immune response after vaccination. In order to explore whether Ag85A DNA vaccine could mount more efficiently protective immune response through new RNA sensor and its signal transduction pathway of antigen presentation we designed and synthesized Ag85A gene fragment containing multiple points mutations and transfected the gene fragment into the dendritic cell line (DC2.4) by CRISPR/Cas9.

Novel circular single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) genomes have been found in various animals using high-throughput sequencing techniques. In this study, two circular ssDNA genomes were detected in adult ticks from northeastern China by Solexa sequencing and PCR. The two sequences shared a similar genomic organization to circoviruses, with genomes of 1936 bp (TiCV-1) and 1812 bp (TiCV-2), each including two major open read frames (ORFs), ORF1 and ORF2, encoding putative replicase and capsid proteins, respectively.

Mesial temporal lobe epilepsy (mTLE), the most common type of temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE), is particularly relevant due to its high frequency of therapeutic resistance of anti-epileptic therapies. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) have been shown to be dysregulated in epilepsy and neurodegenerative diseases, and we hypothesized that miRNAs could be involved in the pathogenesis of MTLE. The present study aimed to explore the expression and functions of miRNA-153 in mTLE.

Background And Objectives: Rhizoma coptidis extract and its alkaloids were reported to exhibit various pharmacological activities. However, pharmacokinetics investigations indicated that the plasma concentrations of the alkaloids were too low to explain their systemic therapeutic actions. Thus, the metabolic profile of Rhizoma coptidis in humans is yet to be fully investigated and the present study aimed to investigate the metabolic profile of Rhizoma coptidis in human urine after oral administration of Rhizoma coptidis extract.

Although large numbers of microRNAs (miRNAs) expressed in Alzheimer disease (AD) have been detected, their functions and mechanisms of regulation remain to be fully clarified. Beta-site Amyloid precursor protein Cleaving Enzyme 1 (BACE1) has been one of the prime therapeutic targets for AD. Here, we identified that miR-124 levels are gradually decreased in AD.
