Objective: Pulmonary infectious diseases (PID) include viral pneumonia (VP) and pulmonary tuberculosis (PT). Mongolian medicine (MM) is an effective treatment option in China, however, the core group medicines (CGMs) in the treatment of PID and their underlying therapeutic mechanisms remain unclear. In this study, through the method of data mining, the CGMs of MM for the treatment of PID were excavated, and the possible mechanism of action of the CGMs in the treatment of PID was explored by using network pharmacology.

Background: The treatment of chronic hepatitis B (CHB) comprises a global medical problem, and the first-line clinical drugs have obvious shortcomings. The use of the plant extract diammonium glycyrrhizinate (DG) in food and medicine has gradually widened because of its safety and effectiveness. DG is mainly used for liver-disease treatment in clinical practice, but DG intervention for CHB lacks systematic evidence.

Objective: Dietary supplements (DS) may improve micronutrient deficiencies, but the unique eating habits and cultural customs of the Chinese Mongolian population affect their choice of DS. Therefore, this study adopted a cross-sectional method to explore the current status of DS use and to assess the influencing factors in the Mongolian population in Inner Mongolia, China.

Methods: We used a multistage random cluster sampling method to select 1,434 Mongolian people aged ≥ 18 years in Hohhot and Xilinhot, Inner Mongolia.

Background: Steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) is aseptic necrosis of the femoral head caused by glucocorticoid use. Once necrotic femoral head necrosis occurs, it irreversibly affects the quality of life seriously. Studies have shown that the susceptibility to steroid-induced ONFH is likely to be related to the variation of miRNA-coding genes.

Introduction: Steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) is a disease of the bone. Metabolism and genetic factors are generally considered to play an important role. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in MIR17HG and MIR155HG and the risk of steroid-induced ONFH in the population of northern China.

Matrine (Mat) is an alkaloid of tetracycline quinazine, and previous studies have demonstrated its specific effect on relieving rheumatoid arthritis (RA). However, the effect of Mat on joint synovial angiogenesis in the pathogenesis of RA has not been elucidated. In this study, body weight, joint swelling, arthritis index (AI) score, histopathological changes, immunohistochemical, and western blot- were used in collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) rats to detect pro-inflammatory factors and, - expression levels of key cytokines and proteins along the hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF)-endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-angiopoietin (Ang) axis and VEGF-phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K) / protein kinase B (Akt) pathway.

Background: Steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) is a complex disease affected by genetics. LncRNA LINC-PINT and LINC00599 have been proved to be associated with susceptibility to a variety of diseases, however it is not clear whether they are related to steroid-induced ONFH. Therefore, this study was aimed at investigating the correlation between the polymorphisms of LINC-PINT and LINC00599 genes and steroid-induced ONFH in the population of northern China.

Background: Dysregulation of the OPG/RANK/RANKL signalling pathway is a key step in the occurrence of steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH). This study aims to understand the degree of methylation of the OPG, RANK, and RANKL genes in steroid-related ONFH.

Methods: A case-control study was designed, including 50 patients (25 males and 25 females) and 50 matched controls.

In this study, we isolated eight phenylethanoid glycosides from for the first time, and evaluated the mechanism underlying their neuroprotective effects against HO-induced injury in PC12 cells. The MTS method was utilized to screen the phenylethanoid glycosides for protective ability. Next, qRT-PCR and western blotting analysis were used to detect the transcription levels of HO-1 and GCLC, which are regulated by Nrf2.
