Intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) offers precise information about lesion morphology and enhances the optimization of endovascular treatments (EVT). Nevertheless, the impact of IVUS on the durability of EVTs and clinical outcomes remains uncertain. The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to evaluate the efficacy of IVUS-guided EVT compared with angiography-guided EVT.

Droplets are essential in a wide range of microfluidic applications, but traditional passive droplet generation methods suffer from slow response speed and the need for precise flow rate adjustment. Here, we present an active droplet generation method through electrowetting-on-dielectric (EWOD). Electrowetting is a technique that uses an electric field to change the wettability of a surface.

Introduction: With the advancement of porous surface processing technology, cementless total knee arthroplasty (TKA) has once again garnered attention. Cementless TKA lacks cement sealing, raising concerns regarding potential blood loss. Recently, patient blood management (PBM) protocols have been introduced to mitigate postoperative blood loss and transfusions.

Objective: Although basal forebrain (BF) cholinergic degeneration and white matter hyperintensities (WMHs) are important in neurodegeneration in Alzheimer's disease (AD) and dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), their relationships with dopaminergic degeneration and clinical manifestations remain unclear.
Methods: A total of 407 patients with cognitive impairment meeting the diagnostic criteria for AD, DLB, or both (AD+DLB) were assessed. All participants underwent 3T MRI, dopamine transporter (DAT) positron emission tomography, neuropsychological tests, and assessments for parkinsonism, cognitive fluctuation, visual hallucination, and rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder (RBD).

This manuscript explores the case on the occurrence of uterine artery pseudoaneurysm (UAP) during hysteroscopy endometrial polypectomy and the subsequent successful treatment uterine artery embolization (UAE). Moreover, we focus on the management and treatment options for UAP in patients of advanced maternal age. A pseudoaneurysm is an extraluminal blood collection with a disrupted flow that communicates with the parent vessel a defect in the arterial wall.

This editorial explores the study by Mkpoikanke Sunday Otu and Maximus Monaheng Sefotho on the use of cognitive-behavioral career coaching (CBCC) to reduce work anxiety and depression among public employees. Public sector workers often face significant psychological stressors, leading to mental health issues that impair well-being and job performance. The study employed a group-randomized trial design, involving 120 public employees diagnosed with severe anxiety and depression.

Computer numerical control (CNC) and machine center (MCT) machines are mechanical devices that manipulate different tools using computer programming as inputs. Predicting failures in CNC and MCT machines before their actual failure time is crucial to reduce maintenance costs and increase productivity. This study is centered around a novel deep learning-based model using a 1D convolutional neural network (CNN) for early fault detection in MCT machines.

Echinochrome A (EchA), a marine-derived natural product, has shown promise in treating cardiovascular and inflammatory diseases due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. However, its cardiac safety remains underexplored. In this study, we utilized human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiac organoids (hCOs) to validate their ability to model the cardiac safety profile of EchA in a human-relevant system.

Methods: A total of 141 AIS patients with thoracic curves determined by Suk classification were divided based on whether the lowest instrumented vertebra (LIV) matched the TV into groups of mTV (n = 84, LIV = TV), TV- (n = 21, LIV above TV), and TV+ (n = 36, LIV below TV) for 5-year follow-up. The radiological parameters were the central sacral vertical line (CSVL)-LIV distance, distal end vertebra rotation, coronal, and sagittal parameters.
